Okay how is the TS resturant at the POR? (Boatwright) Is this a place we should even plan on hitting or should we just hit somewhere else?

We liked the food very much (breakfast and dinner). Even if staying at another resort, it's worth it to go for breakfast (strawberries and cream...real cream!!!.... Yummy!!!!) AND those Sweet Potato Pancakes with Maple Butter....TO DIE FOR!!!!

I have ADR there for October 11th for breakfast. Havent been before, but the food looks very good and even though I'm on the DDP, the prices seem reasonable too.

Breakfast at Boatwright's is yummy! I love the banana stuffed French toast.

Breakfast is good--dinner rather ordinary. Not really worth a special trip for dinner.

We enjoy eating at Boatwrights and haven't had any problems when we have been there. We usually get either the pot roast or the prime rib and haven't been disappointed in them.

We had dinner there last year on the Free Dining plan (we were staying right there at POR) - it was the best meal we had all week!! There was nothing disappointing at all. We never had breakfast there but every morning as we walked by on our way out, there were huge lines to get in so apparently breakfast is very good and very popular! Big thumbs-up for Boatwrights!!:thumbsup2

Posting those pictures is just MEAN!

I am drooling here!

Banana Stuffed French Toast and Tonga Toast RULE!

Boatwrights is a fine restaurant. We love it!

If you get the Tonga French Toast from Boatrights, and you're on the DDP, does that take 1TS? At that point, I should probably pay OOP, huh?

When we used to stay at Dixie Landings (it was that long ago), we used to love the skillet breakfasts at Boatwrights. I think it's a good bet to eat there still.

We ate at Boatwrights 3 times last week. Once for dinner and twice for breakfast. DH had the banana stuffed french toast the first morning and I was surprised that it IS Tonga Toast so don't bother with the special trip out to the Kona Cafe at the Poly for that! I thought it was pretty good. Not as good as when it was still Dixie Landings, but I don't think that's the hotel's fault. Disney seems to be standardizing it's food. So it's pretty much all the same everywhere we go. Dinner was good. Had the prime rib (small-ish and a bit fatty but good) and a bananas foster dish for dessert that was very yummy.

We had dinner at Boatwright's just 10 days ago. The restaurant is nice, and the service was fine. But, we were not overly impressed with this meal. In fairness, it was our last TS meal of a full week of free dining though. But the menu seemed to have changed from what I remember looking at before we went. We were a group with pretty diverse tastes, and I don't think any of us were overly excited with the choices. It was definitely our least favorite TS meal of the week, and one we probably won't be hurrying back to.

If you go for dinner get either the pot roast or the jambalaya. Both are excellent. :)

We have never had the breakfast there, but we will definitely try it for breakfast next year after seeing the menu and reading the reviews. We did have dinner there last month and were very disappointed. We had the prime rib and it was by far the worse prime rib we have ever had. The service was also very slow (it was extremely crowded) and we did not like it being so close to the lounge where the piano player performs...it made it extremely noisy and loud and we couldn't even talk amongst ourselves because we couldn't hear anything.

I ate there last December and really enjoyed it. I had the Pot Roast. Yummy!!!!

I have to second (and third) those who praised the sweet potato pancakes with the maple-nut butter for breakfast. Incredible.:goodvibes

Thanks Guys. The french toast looks wonderful and sweet potato pancakes sound like heaven! My husband is a big breakfast person. He hates quick stuff like doughnuts and poptarts, so this will def be on our list.
