Since we will be staying at POR, my hubby and I were thinking late one evening we could have dinner alone and leave our teenager in the room with our younger children. I like the idea of being close by but have not tried boatwrights, is it any good?

Yes Boatwrights is good. We also stay at Riverside and will be there again the end of this month. The breakfast is excellent and the dinner is great as well. We have stayed at all of the value and moderate resorts and this is my favorite resort restaurant. Deluxe restaurants are a different story. You will also enjoy the guy playing the piano next door at night on the weekends. This is really fun.

I have only eaten here at breakfast, so I can't vouch for dinner. Breakfast was delicious though.

Gosh has it been 3 years already? Time flies! When we stayed at POR (loved it!) we had dinner one night at Boatwright's. I remember I had Pot Roast and liked it very much. Basic ambience...service was fine and since we wanted a night "in" it was a good choice. Also, didn't go but I remember people raving about a lounge act in POR. So with dinner and entertainment at a piano bar...a fine adults night out! :)

Our family also stays at POR! We have eaten at Boatwright's for breakfast and dinner on several occasions and have always enjoyed our meals!:)

Just returned from there. We ate one breakfast and one dinner at Boatwrights. Yes its pretty good, it was certainly not our best meal by far but good. They do have a great scallop and shrimp appetizer which is delicious the desserts left a lot to be desired.

I agree that it is good but there are other places that we like better. We have eaten there twice and neither time were we disappointed.

we had dinner sept 07
It was edible, but there are better places
POR is beautiful!! eat there if it means you get time away from the kids

We ate there last February while staying at POFQ. It was very quiet and relaxing. The food was great and the service was outstanding. It was probably our favorite meal that trip. No screaming kids, just really peaceful.

We ate at Boatwright's the last night of our trip in September. It was by far the worse meal of our trip (and possibly any trip with the exception of Sci-Fi). First we were seated 45 minutes after our ADR (they skipped us they said accidentally as other people that came after us were seated before us). The service was terrible, the appetizers were so tiny I don't know why they bothered with them, steaks were fatty and not cooked appropriately and my DH hated the potatos (and my husband will EAT ANYTHING). Plus it was so noisy from the bar where the piano guy plays that we couldn't hear ourselves think let alone get anything across to our rude waitress.
