Has anyone had dinner at Boatwrights where they can tell me how the food was? We're thinking of having dinner there during our visit and wanted any input on whether we should or not..

Thanks!!

We went September 07. It was by far the second worse meal we've ever had at Disney. We waited over 30 minutes past our ADR, the host was rude, the waitress no better--hardly said more than 10 words to us, the food medicore at best (I sent my steak back twice and they still couldn't get it right and DH's was mostly fat); desserts were not good at all. That and it was so noisy that we couldn't hear ourselves think let alone have a conversation. It is stuck between the food court and the lounge where the piano guy plays--not a good place for a quiet dinner. We had hoped to try breakfast this year for the sweet potato pancakes for DH but they are discontinuing breakfast as of February 21.

We were booking this year for POR based on the recommendation of a co-worker who loves this hotel. The ONE thing he said was Boatwrights for breakfast = :thumbsup2 , Boatwrights for any other meal = :scared:

He had less than favorable reviews and said it was the one place on WDW property that he really wouldn't go back to (for dinner anyway).

We LOVED Boatwright's for breakfast and put off a dinner reservation for quite some time because of the bad reviews. In August 08 we stayed at POR and said we'd give it a try. We were glad we did!
We were there during Hurricane Fay and while the place was packed and people were told it was at least an hours wait, we were seated within 5 minutes of our ADR time. Our server was very talkative and friendly and the food was SO good. Perfectly cooked filet and the prime rib was melt in your mouth. I tried the angel food cake (recommended by the server) and it was wonderful!
We will definitely go back!

Food pix are on my site (and dining review)

It is an okay meal...if it was my family going i would say lets go down to the foodcourt a couple feet away so we can get what we want...

we thought they didnt really have much of selection and didnt even try dining there.

I agree w/KatMark ... our party of four adults ate there in January 2007 ... long wait; poor wait staff; awful food. My husband eats anything and rarely complains ... I could not pay him enough to go there again. We had breakfast there a few years earlier ... same story. Am surprised they are still open. Would never go there again; a waste of money. Food court is better. Very sad because I love the relaxation of a sit-down restaurant.

It's been a while, but we loved it!
