Boats at POR

I saw a trip report somewhere in which the person said that when they visited in January the boats from POR to Downtown Disney were not running. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I just returned from a stay at POFQ from 9/22 through 9/30 and the boats were running on a regular basis.

Hubby and I stayed at POFQ back in January and the boats were running. And yes, I do know that they were running from POR because we watched one go by us and on to POR then come back with people to pick us up before going on to DTD.

We were at POR last week and the boats were running regularly.

If I remember correctly, I believe when we stayed at POR in Jan. 2005 they were not running due to the weather. We were thinking of taking it over one evening and it was too cold or something. That may be what the other poster experienced as well.

We usually go in early February or early March and always stay at POR (for the past 8 years). I think it was three years ago when the boat wasn't running during our week and a CM said it was due to a draught central Florida was experiencing at the time. I remember the water level in the ole Sassagoula was a little low too. But, that was the only time we experienced the DTD boat service not running.

We were there a couple weeks ago - I'm pretty sure I remember the boat driver saying they run all year - but on a limited schedule. They had them shut down a couple times durring our stay - but that was because of lightning. As the boat driver said... you don't want to be sitting in a big metal can when lightning strikes!

I just returned and they are running. You can also travel between the French Quarter and Riverside at POR in them. They run about every 20 mins or so.

We were there a few years ago in January. For part of our trip the boats were not running due to the cold. The beginning of the week was freezing thankfully by mid week it warmed up and the boats ran again.

I think if the temp drops below 60 degrees they stop the boats.
