Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know, but according to a boat captain in the Bay Lake area, the monorail resorts have boat transportation for those on ECVs. When I stayed at Poly a few years ago, I thought that the only boat transportation available to me for the MK was the Ferryboat-that all the boats that go between the MK, Poly, GF, and (I think) Contemporary were small wooden-type boats. But in verifying it today, the boat captain said that now all guests, even those on ECVs at monorail resorts, have access to boat transportation.

Boats have long been able to transport ECVs and wheelchairs between the GF, Poly, and WL and the MK.

There have been times that Disney has used various boats. For some period, they hsvealternated between smaller craft that couldnt take wheeled devices and larger ones that could, especially at WL.

So they got boats to go to those hotels in addition to the small boats?

When they added the fourth cruiser they started using it to service the Poly and the Grand. Before that those resorts were only serviced by launches or kingdom boats.

Great news! I heard originally red that you had to look for a specific-colored flag for whether or not the specific boat could take an ECV.

Interesting as we were at MK, had ressie for Poly and were told that there was no boat transportation to the Polynesian but not one but two cast members. We had to take the monorail and push my husband in his wheelchair up that steep ramp.

I stayed at GF in October, and I only saw an accessible boat once, after fireworks. They do have them, like WL alternates them, but that doesn't mean they are running most of the time. They are also running many non-accessible boats that you could probably use with a folding manual chair.

I'm at WL now, and I've ridden the boat five times. Every time has been a non-accessible boat. (We aren't traveling with our disabled family member this time.) I did see an accessible boat at the Poly/VGF dock twice.

Disney is doing something, shuffling these boats up. Shame for WL, every time, people are left behind waiting. This is one of the reasons I'm not such a big WL fan.

That may have been a one-off. I’d have considered taking the ferry to the TTC and walked over to the Poly.
That's what I always did when I stayed at Poly. I'd take the monorail over, the Ferry back. But I was in the building closest to the Ferry (begins with "M").

Most likely you’ve just been unlucky. They generally have one launch and one cruiser on each route minimum. If they’re running two launches it’s because one cruiser is down for maintenance and a second is being washed, but even then I’d think they’d pull the cruiser from the Grand/Poly route rather than from the Lodge route.
