YIKES...Doesn't sound great ...DH picked it out and wanted to try it...I think he wanted to see POR more than eat there...but we'll try it and see..We are eating at LeCellier for lunch that day-so it will just help us appreciate that more...Thanks...

No problem. Might I suggest, if you can, book a horse carriage ride around POR. You do need to book these in advance. They are very nice and very romantic. It's about $45 for the ride (not per person). It's a great way to get a view of the grounds a bit. You can grab a drink from the bar before your trip, and just relax and enjoy. It is very well worth it, IMO. Also, when heading back to your resort, take the boat to DTD to pick up your resort bus.

If you are planning to be at POR anyway, and are thinking about a carriage ride, then I would say go ahead and try it. It has a fairly unique menu compared to most restaurants on property, which is nice, and the setting is nice.

Not necessarily, DH and I were able to get a walk up carriage ride when we were there in May. Both carriages were available at the time, too. It is a very nice ride, though.

Good to know. The only time my girlfriend and I took one was the week between Christmas and NYE. They were turning people away who were asking if they could take a ride. I guess in the end, if you know it is something you want to do, book the reservation. If you don't mind one way or another you could wing it and see what happens (much like everything else at WDW).

We went three years ago for the last meal of our trip and we were very disappointed. We waited over 30 minutes past our ADR as others kept walking in (the Host somehow forgot to put us in the system and was very rude about it); the restaurant was extremely noisy because it is stuck between the food court and the bar where the piano guy plays) and the food was mediocre at best and the service was horrid. If you are staying there and you don't want to travel, you could give it a try. It's not some place that we will go back to since we don't stay at POR.

We were staying at POR in May and ate there for dinner one night. We only made the ADR there for the convenience of eating at our resort one night, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was good and so was the food. And the bananas foster dessert was very good.

Since we will be staying at POR, I'm sure we'll try this restaurant at least once. And thanks for the info regarding the carriage ride. I read about it somewhere, and it sounds like something we really want to do.
