Boathouse worth it?

I am currently finalizing our target dining reservations for our family trip that will take place November 5-10. It will be me, DH, DD 2, MIL, and FIL. We have two (hopefully) connecting Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. On arrival day we are thinking about taking it easy and moseying over to Disney Springs on the boat from POR and having dinner. I would love input on which restaurants will be both delicious and not turn into a loud bar at 6pm since we will have my two year old daughter in tow. We do have some plain/picky eaters so menu can't be too adventurous. I'm thinking either the Boathouse or Homecomin' for dinner. I think the Boathouse experience looks cool (car boats!) but is it worth paying out of pocket or using two meal credits on it? We are already over our credits bc we are doing a table service each day in the parks including CRT. Thoughts welcome! Thanks!

Are you on the regular or deluxe plan. Regular plan it is not worth it. Deluxe it is. Boathouse is loud and busy. It is always full.

The auto boats are not part of the dining experience -- they are adjacent to the Boathouse and are over $100 for a twenty minute ride, and accommodate three people.

We are on the regular dining plan. Any experience with Homecomin'?

Yeah I saw that, super expensive but thinking if it was that awesome we might splurge. Sounds like not worth $200 for our crew to ride for 20 minutes since there will be 5 of us. Thanks for posting the price--outrageous!

We really like The Boathouse a lot. Have gone for both lunch and dinner. My dd who is picky as well also likes it a lot. We prefer The Boathouse of Chef Art Smith's Homecoming, but that is our preference. Would rather have a lobster roll than fried chicken for about the same price-just depends on what you are looking for. Both have kid's menu choices as well.

Feel free the check out photos from both establishments-

DW and I went to the Boathouse for dinner during the first week of December. We also splurged on the amphicar boat ride. We really enjoyed both the boat ride (though it started pouring during) and our dinner at the Boathouse. I didn't think it was too crowded or loud. We scheduled our dinner so we could do the boat ride just before the sun went down and dinner right after. After dinner it was nice to walk around the docks and look at the boats they had on display.
