Boathouse for a preschooler?

Boathouse has so many boats to try out, and for our non-park day, I was thinking of doing at least one boat ride. And since we will need to eat lunch anyway, I was thinking we should look at their restaurant. But would a preschooler be out of place there? I know there is a kid's menu, but that isn't always an indication of how young a child is appropriate to be there.

My preschooler ate there when we went in October. He loved it! But he is obsessed with antique boats (as his grandpa has antique wooden boats). He liked to see all the pictures on the walls but he has grown up around boats and that interests him. We live in the same town as a whaling museum and he loves it and we go almost every week. So he was in his element! hehe The kids meal comes in a cardboard amphicar which is totally cool. We had to bring it home with us (and it made it unsmooshed in the suitcase!). After we ate we walked around the docks to see the boats then we did the amphicar ride. It is a nice place - not kid themed - but a child wouldn't be out of place - same as any other decent restaurant. (and cleanest bathroom! hehe) He loved the amphicar ride. The boats at the docks at the boathouse are for display only - there are actually raised out of the water by a couple inches (barely noticeable) which is how they are shown and they don't get damage since they are antique. I don't think they have any other boats to ride in other than the amphicar? I may be wrong.... But the amphicar ride was awesome. I would totally recommend it. It was long enough and you get a tour of the whole lake. If you eat there you get a discount on the boat ride too.

Thank you blackpearl. I was thinking of taking a an amphicar ride if it was available. I thought there were other cars, but those may be only for catered events. The cardboard amphicar sounds like the best souvenir!

He will be fine. Kids are really fine anywhere at WDW except V&A. With a preschooler, we made a early reservation time for dinner at more adult (signature ) places, but never hesitated to take our boys anywhere we wanted to eat. Of course if they act up, you deal with it but WDW is a great place for kids to enjoy more refined dining and learn to enjoy it!
