Boathouse and aquacar

I am planning on dining at the Boathouse and was wondering can you get a discount for the aquacar if you do it before your reservation? Going in July and was planning on dinner reservations for 6:30 or 7:00 and the aquacar before that - or should I book dinner at 6:00 and then do the aquacar after? Not sure how long the dinner will take for only 2 people at 6:00 on a Thursday night?

I haven't tried but I do know that the Boathouse staff is incredibly accommodating. I imagine if you wanted to do the amphicar before dinner and could show them your reservation (either on MDE or in OpenTable) that they would either extend the discount then or take care of it with your dinner bill. Just ask. EDIT - see post below ... apparently they might not. One thing to think about in July is that afternoon thunderstorms are pretty common and the boats obviously don't operate then. Another consideration is that sunset in July will be somewhere around 8:15 - 8:30 and might be a lovely time for a cruise (also a nice time to dine on the water). In terms of how long dinner will take, I'd say as long as you want it to and depends on what you'll order. Our last meal was between 90 min to 2 hours but we did apps, entree, and dessert and lingered over drinks. If you told them you need to be out by x time, I think they'd make it happen. Hope you love it!

I was told by the person at the counter that I had to show my receipt for a meal before I could get the discount on the Amphicar ride.

I did it in reverse (Amphicar and then dinner) and the person at the counter told me they couldn't retroactively give me the discount.
