How long does it take to get to MK from the Fort? Do you take buses to the other parks?

The actual boat ride to MK is about 12 minutes (not including if you have to wait for the boat).

Lots of people take the buses everywhere else. We usually prefer driving - or if we're not pressed for time, doing the "Disney Transport Shuffle"...

i.e., boat to MK, monorail to EP, boat to HS...

AK is the one place you pretty much have to drive or take a bus.

It's a great ride. One of the benefits of the fort, unless it's winter and cold out. We were staying at CR and my sister was at FW with her RV one trip and the boat made it all worthwhile. A chance to see the otters up close and personal is also a great deal.

How long? If you miss the boat just as it is leaving like what happened to us a few weeks ago, it can then take 15 to 20 minutes for the next boat to come, just like it did 3 weeks ago and then the boat ride takes about the 10 to 12 minutes.

Unlike many others, we have no other means of transportation after we get to FW in the MH. We take the boat to MK or the Orange Bus to WL and then the bus to MK.

Only when we hit MK first shot do we then take the monorail to TTC and then transfer to the Epcot monorail. Taking bus directly from FW to Epcot is quicker.

We have had occasions where the time waiting for a bus to come to our loop stop and then waiting for a bus to come to the Outpost combined with the trip to a park has taken 1 hour. Not very often but it does happen and since we go to FW 6 to 10 times a year there is ample opportunity for us to test the system.

I don't mind waiting for the boat if miss one. We just play around in the sand and wait. We made rope drop last year and it wasn't hard to do.

We made rope drop at the other parks to taking the bus. It takes a little longer then driving. (30-40)

We drove to D Studios last year.....well, we liked driving more then we thought. Especially because you can drive right up to your cabin/camp site.
