Can anyone please verify if there is a boat ride from Port Orleans Riverside to an alternate entrance in EPCOT? I read that on a travel tip board late last night and can't seem to find it on any map or book that I have access to...I'm hoping someone hasn't tried to suggest something that doesn't exist.:scared1:

Thanks so much,

Tracy

I was at POR last fall and the boat went to DTD but that's it. Maybe there's a transfer somewhere at DTD but I didn't see any signs or hear anyone speaking of it.
There is a boat at Epcot that you can take across the lagoon to the other countries.
Good luck with your search!

We stayed at POFQ last year.. boat from there goes to DTD as stated above.. from there you can go to Pleasure Island or other resorts SSR, OKW and Boardwalk Villas. There isn't a boat that goes Epcot, however it's a 5 minute walk from DTD to Epcot. The back entrance comes in near UK.

Definitely no boat from PO to Epcot.

:confused3

How do you walk from DTD to Epcot?

Ok.. I think i misstated.. Was told that by someone and after looking.. there is no way to walk from DTD to epcot.. without getting run over on the highway.. lol. DW misstakenly thought that Boardwalk was on the DTD lakes.. we did know that Boardwalk had a walking trail to Epcot, as well as boats.

Sorry all. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :headache:

So just to clairfy ...

POR and POFQ have a boat that goes to Downtown Disney. That boat goes no where else but Downtown Disney. The only other resorts that have boat access to Downtown Disney are Saratoga Springs Resort and Old Key West.

There is no boat access between Epcot and Downtown Disney. There's also no boat access between any "Epcot area" resort and Downtown Disney. In other words, it's impossible to get from Epcot to DTD by transfering boats.

So the answer is no, there is no boat access between POR and Epcot.

Correct!

Somewhat related question:

Is there a direct boat ride between OKW and Port Orleans?

Or would you first have to travel to DTD and transfer?

You'd need to transfer at DTD ... no direct boat service between OKW and the Port Orleans resorts.

NOPE you have to ride all the way to DTD then take the boat to the other. Would have been nice on our last trip as we had dinner ressies at OKW (stayed at POFQ). We ended up drivigin over just in case of the evening storms shut the boats down (that does happen from time to time).

Everyone is correct. we just stayed at Port Orleans /French Quarter and the boat only went to downtown Disney

The boat that goes to EPCOT's International Gateway entrance does a round trip between EPCOT and DHS with stops at the EPCOT resorts,Swan and Dolphin,Yacht and Beach Club and the Boardwalk. For example you can grab that boat at DHS it will then stop at the Swan and Dolphin, then the Y&B club, then the Boardwalk and then EPCOT,then it picks up at EPCOT and does the trip back to DHS.You can walk this same route but it will take close to 30 minutes, the boats are not fast but at least you're not walking. There is no way to walk from DTD to EPCOT and the Port Orleans boats only go to DTD.
