How long is the boat ride from POR to DD? How often do the boats depart?
Do they get crowded?

it takes the same amount of time if you were to wait for the bus, the bus goes to TL first before the Market place.

I love using the boat when I stay at POFQ, once your on the boat it never seems like it took 15-20 mins, I always thought it was not that long

:sail: have fun

11am-11pm daily

departing every 20 minutes up unitl 4pm then the departure times increase to every 10 minutes.

takes about 20 minutes to arrive in DTD.

It's an okay ride, we got off to explore FQ (rode from Riverside) although in the heat, be careful to pick the shady side of the boat. Even with the little breeze it is hot! Personally, I didn't get the big hype about it?? but that is just my opinion. I would prefer the air conditioned bus anytime.

The boats are allowed only 25 total passengers, based on the seating, so it doesn't really get crowded, even with a full boat. Wheelchairs and ECV's take up more space and take away about 3-4 seats each (with a limit of two wheelchairs/ECVs per boat), so take that into consideration if there is a physically challenged person on board. No one is allowed to stand during the trip. Normally in the afternoons and evening, boats departing from POR will take on only 15 passengers, allowing 10 more passengers to get on at POFQ. Boats come pretty quickly in the afternoon and evening, so if you miss a boat you shouldn't have to wait too long for another.

The one thing to keep in mind is the boats will NOT operate if there is lightning in the area. As one of the captains told us last week, "metal + water + lightning = nothing good".

It is a lovely trip especially at night, UNLESS you have a troop of cub scouts with leaders who insist on singing Sponge Bob Square Pants theme the entire trip at the top of their voices.

The actual ride is about 20 minutes but it is a nice ride. We only waited one time for the boat and it was only 5 minutes. We like the boat ride especially after a busy day and you want to go to DTD for awhile. Also because we go in Jan/ Feb our boats are never full. Just some extra info if the temp gets below 40 degrees they shut the boats down. In all of our trips that has only happened one time and it was very cold. Enjoy

They also close if it's too windy. I love it because it's a great way to relax on vacation. The slow pace forces you to slow down. It's really great at night, very romantic.
