Boat rentals: WL or Marketplace

My wife would love to rent one of the little speedboats. Are they available at Wilderness Lodge or the Marketplace? (I'm not even sure if there are boat rentals at the Marketplace, but I seem to recall hearing that there were.)

In either case, what is the best place to rent these boats?

Rent the boats at one of the resorts on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary). These boats have larger engines and go faster than any of the boats at other places. The only downside to renting from the Magic Kingdom resorts is that all drivers must present a valid driver's license (kids can't drive). The slower boats can be driven by kids age 12 and 5 ft tall.

The marinas on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon all open at 10:00 am. I think it is the same, or similar for the other marinas as well.

ITA with Pixie Dust. Rent from WL instead of DTD - the boats are much better & so is the scenery.
My DS (16 yo licensed driver) and I have a Tradition of lunching at Kona, then renting water mice from their marina for a Regatta around Seven Seas & Bay Lake. Luckily his age worked out that he could drive from the time he was 12 as they just started requiring a licnse for our trips this year when he has his.

If your renting the water mice, then the resorts are the place to do it. However, if you rent the larger boats, I like DTD because you can go up the river to PO, where at the resorts, it just around the lakes.
