Where is the best place to rent boats during a non-park day?

Depends on what you want to see. If you want quiet scenic waters the marina in Downtown Disney is great. However, if you want to be immersed in Disneyana and don't mind a little extra traffic in the water the marina at Contemporary (or Poly or GF) are great if you want to ride around the entrance to the Magic Kingdom.

I've rented in many places and my favorite has to be from one of the resorts on the Seven Seas Lagoon. I like to zip around between the Lagoon and Bay lake. My family has gotten some really great pictures while doing this
