Boat Rental?

Hello,
We are going to WDW in August and would like to do the boat rental at BLT. I got online and saw it isn't opened. Has anyone heard about this possibly reopening maybe for the summer? We have never done this and would really like to try it. Thank you!

I just saw on Tikiman's page that he is hearing that they are never coming back. It was one of our favorite non-park activities to do, so I hope it isn't true.

That would be surprising. They've been around since WDW first opened.

I have yet to try the boat rentals. Is there a lot you can do with the boat in just 30 minutes or do people usually book them for longer periods of time?

When they were doing the rentals we enjoyed doing the little water sprites. Typically we would b out an hour in them. Going for only 30 minutes wouldn't be enough as far as I was concerned.

At any rate, they still aren't doing boat rentals right now.

I liked the water sprites also. An hour seems about right for Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. That allows time to cruise by the resorts, wave to the people on the ferry, look at River Country, and get some speed turns in. If they ever come back, just know it's more fun/speed the less weight in the boat.

We did some water skiing (not me, other family members) in the past.

From what I was told, Sammy Duvall will not be returning. They closed down in 2018.

According to WDW's website (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/motorized-boats/), the pontoon boats are now available to rent for $45 for a half hour. Available at:

I think the only boat rentals now are the pontoon boats and that only just opened in the last few days.
