Does anyone know if there is a direct boat that goes from Epcot over to MGM or do you have to stop at boardwalk pick up the boat to MgM- trying to make plans to pop in to see the Osborn lights after a morning at Epcot.

All the boats run roundtrip, no transfer needed:

Epcot
Boardwalk
YC/BC
Swan/Dolphin
MGM
Swan/Dolphin
YC/BC
Boardwalk
Epcot

Thanks so much! That will make time planning for dinner a little easier since we don't have to count on adding time for a transfer
Counting down to Dec.17th!!!:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: pirate:

Plan on about 20 min. for the ride, including the stops. Which is about how long it would take you to walk from Epcot to MGM.

I'm not positive, but I think it's through the International Gateway and then down the Boardwalk. Can someone confirm this?

You exit Epcot at the International Gateway (United Kingdom area). You have two options once you walk over the bridge. Straight past the Beach club and Yacht club. Then go left on the next bridge heading towards the Boardwalk. Once you cross the bridge you then turn right heading away from the Boardwalk. The water is now on your right and the Boadwalk Villas on your left. Just keep walking. The path will take you to the Studios entrance.
The other option after exiting at the Intenational Gateway is to turn left at the first bridge. This will take you to the boardwalk area (ESPN club). Continue walking towards the Boardwalk hotel and when you get to the next bridge do not go on it. Instead turn left and walk along side the Boardwalk Villas to the Studios. Very pleasant walk (if it isn't too hot). Ususally faster than the boats unless you catch one right away.

The shortest walk is out the internional gateway (if a boat is actually in the dock and you have children in tow or are a slow walker - take the boat) otherwise keep walking. Ignore the little path to the left along the water and take the wide path to the right. turn left over the bridge and along Boardwalk past ESPN, Spoodles and Flying Fish. Turn left after the Surrey Rentals, then right after Wyland Galleries. Go under the main building then sharp left along the path between the Boardwalk Villas and the pool area. This brings you to the main path along the canal to MGM. Turn left. You ought to be able to see Tower of Terror in the distance.

If you walk briskly, you should beat the boat as it has to stop at every hotel along the way

Is this path labeled with "To MGM" or anything? Can double jogging style (with swivel front wheel) strollers go on boat w/o needing to be folded up? Thanks.

The path is plenty wide for strollers.

And you don't have to walk very brisk at all to beat the boats!

I didn't know there was a boat from MGM to Epcot. Where would we find the launch ???? I'm assuming this is much better than doing the bus transfer ???? We usually have our car with us, first time we are flying and no rental car.

Thanks !!

At Epcot the boat is located at the international Gateway which is located between France and UK (on the UK side.

At MGM the boat is located to the left of the main entrance as you leave MGM.

BTW, there is a direct bus between Epcot and MGM (no transfers).

Is the friendship boat big enough for stroller to come onboard w/o needing to be folded up? Thanks.

I haven't take a stroller on the boats, but I see people folding them and leaving them in the front. There just isn't room for them to be open. Also, when it gets close to closing, often people are standing in the aisles.

We rolled our double-wide stroller right on board with no folding necessary, and there is an area in the back of the boat that has room to keep the stroller open (we never even took the kids out when riding the boat).

Hope this helps...

Just a heads up. If you see anyone in a wheelchair or ecv waiting to get on the boat, be prepared to fold your stroller, since that is the area where people with wheelchairs/ecvs ride the boat.

If your visiting during a busy time you will be asked to fold your stroller when boarding the boats.

If the boat is not crowded and there are no wheelchair or ECV's you may be able to keep it open and park it in front or rear. You will have to take baby/child out and have them sit with you. I was told by the captain they can't leave a child strapped into a stroller for safety reasons.
