Hi!
We are traveling to Disney 11/30-12/3. on 12/3 we have a Breakfast reservation at Cape May Cafe. I see that to get there we can take the bus from Pop to Epcot and then take the boat from Epcot to the Beach Club. or we can take a cab.

While I would normally opt for the cab as it is a 39 minute difference in time, I think that on our last day (we have until 1pm) we may enjoy the long route to breakfast ... but is it worth it?

Have you taken the boat from Epcot to the Beach Club? Is it a Photo Op?

Thanks for your advice!

I would take the cab.

The bus will drop you off at the front of Epcot. You have to enter Epcot (were you planning on park admission that day?), and walk through the entire park to the International Gateway. Once there it is only a quick walk (5 mins. or less) to walk to Beach Club. You'll walk past the boat launch and usually would have to wait a lot longer for the boat than just to walk. Plus, the boat drops you off at the Yacht Club dock, so you actually backtrack to get to Cape May. If you really want a boat ride, wait until after breakfast and you can make the loop around to MGM and back. But really it would more fun to walk around the Boardwalk and rent a surrey bike or something. HTH :sunny:

There are several problems that will prevent you from doing this.

First, the bus from Pop to Epcot drops you at the front of Epcot. You'll have to enter the park (using a day off your pass, and preventing you from hopping to another park unless you have the hopper option).

Second, the World Showcase part of Epcot (where you would have to go to get to the International Gateway exit) doesn't open until 11:00. A bit late for breakfast.

Third, even if you could do this, taking the boat to BC would take an extra 15 minutes over just walking from the International Gateway to BC because the boat first stops at Boardwalk, then to the dock at YC from where you would have to walk about the same distance to the BC as if you walked there directly.

What time is your breakfast? To get to the boat you have to get to the back entrance ot Epcot (International Gateway). From there you can catch the boat-or walk as it would only take about 5 minutes(really!). As far as a photo op-no biggie. You could do the same from MGM-might actually be easier. At least you wouldn't have to walk through Epcot-and the boat ride would be a little longer.

Just realize that you would have to enter Epcot and walk thru and exit the International Gateway (between England and France) to get the boat to the BC; if the boat is not right at the dock, it's usually faster just to walk to the BC. You can get in and out of the International Gateway before 11AM.

How about another option? Instead of Epcot, take the bus to the Studios and walk/boat from there.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I really appreciate it!

We will be taking a cab because it is our last day and we are not going to any parks that day. A cab ride will be much cheaper than tickets to get the boat from a park!

Thanks Again!!

You don't go into a park if you take the bus to MGM, then take the boat to the Beach Club.

If you take a bus to MGM you could take the boat to the BC. The bus will drop you outside of MGM. You could take this route if you want a boat ride. It takes about 20 min.and is relaxing.

You can take the boat from MGM without entering the park?

The reason you have to use park admission to take the boat from Epcot to the BC is because the bus drops you off at the front entrance, and the boats are outside the back entrance. You have to walk through Epcot's Future World to World Showcase to exit at the International Gateway: http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/epcotmap1.jpg

There is only one way into MGM, and you pick up the boat outside the entrance: http://allearsnet.com/tp/mgm/mgmmap1.jpg

Thanks! I think we may take the bus to MGM and then the boat!
We are looking for a very relaxing time that morning.
You have all been very helpful!

There is another option. If your ressie is early in the morning (before 8AM), the boats may not be running that early. Tell the MGM bus driver that you need to get to the BC. He will drop you off right at the resort.

You could then take the boat back to MGM after breakfast.

Thanks!! :)
Our ADR is for 10:20, so the boat should be running.

Thank you all so much...you have really helped my planning!!

Ok, gotta add another idea.....

How about the bus to MGM and then walking to BC. It's about a 15 min. walk along the canal (or maybe you want to walk on your way home to burn off breakfast ). :goodvibes

It takes me 15-20 minutes to walk from MGM to the Swan, so add another 5 minutes or so to the Beach Club.

In your first post you mentioned 1PM. Is that for the ME bus? They recommend being there 15 minutes early because the time is when they least the resort.

I would strongly recommend a taxi back to POP (less than $10, make sure the taxi turns RIGHT out of the BC). Whether or not you walk or take the boat to MGM, and then bus to POP, it WILL take at least an hour. CM runs late much of the time (especially late breakfast).

I admit I am a worrier, but it would be too close for me. I would get to the ADR early.
