Booked for Oct 3-10th!!!
Our 2nd night there we have a PS for Trails End Buffet - I know this is listed as at FW and just assumed we would take a bus from resort to FW. I found this tip on Deb's "Take the boat ride from the Contemporary Resort to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge across Bay Lake. If possible, do this at night with your SO. Very romantic" and thought this would be a great idea - Take bus to Contemporary from All Star Sports and boat to Trails End. - will this get me there and how long should I plan on time wise, don't mind riding in a boat for half an hour or so but will need to plan so we make reservation times.

Yes, there is a boat that goes to FW from the Contemporary. However, I do not think there is a bus to Contemporary from AllStars. You can take a bus to MK, then take the boat to FW.

I do not know how long to plan on, but with all the families going to hddr, I did not consider the boat ride very romantic.

I think there are 2 different boats, the one from the MK is quite a bit larger than the one from the contemporary to FW. The one to the contemporary is smaller and more intimate than the others. The one from MK goes to both FW and Wilderness Lodge. The one from the contemporary is on the other side of the dock at FW. Hope this makes sense. We took the smaller boat to CR for dinner at the California Grill one night and it was very nice.

Just remember the docks have 2 boats on each side that dock there. We stayed in December of 04 and the boat from WL went to FW first and then the Contemp, then to MK. But eating at Trails end is great. Walk around afterwards. They have a cool petting farm. If you really want to be romantic, book a carriage ride at WL. :goodvibes

The boat ride is a lot of fun! pirate: But I agree, take the bus to MK then the boat to FT. Wilderness!

If I take the bus to MK I don't have to enter the Kingdom to get onto the boat? Right? Also time frame to get from a to b? What other way could we get from All Star Sports to FW for dinner and how long approx will it take? 8 people going and we are the only ones with a car onsite - others will be using magical express from airport so they will def. need transportation to trails end for dinner.

I'd allow an hour and a half at least from All Stars to MK to FW. If you're lucky and catch everything just as it's leaving then you may have a little time to spare but don't count on it. Sometimes you have to wait a little while for a boat.

No, you do not have to enter the MK to get the boat to FW. Another option, you could take a bus from AS to the TTC, then take a bus to FW. As you can see, there is no direct route unless you take a taxi. My opinion is this: take a bus to the MK, then walk to the Contemporary dock (would take about 12 minutes) and then take the boat to FW (the one deb wills recommends). It is a smaller boat and more pleasant. I agree to give yourself about 90 minutes for the entire trip. Have fun. :)

There is no bus from the AS to the TTC, I think that the only resort that has a bus running to and from the TTC is FW.

Thanks for correcting that, I assumed they all did...we were at Wilderness Lodge recently, and they had one.
