Boarwalk view at BWV...Worth it once?

When I first bought BWV in 1999, my guide said requests were granted in order of reservation and since I would be booking at 11 months, my chances were high of getting a boardwalk view (this was way before the category split). First trip - got quiet pool view. Very disappointed. So after that, I booked standard view rather than gamble on the view and to save points. When boardwalk view became guaranteed, I booked it. I have never looked back, I book it everytime! Last October a friend & I had a 1 bedroom in the Crest O the Wave and we loved sitting out on the balcony at night and listening to the music from the dance hall. The nights were warm, we were out there until midnight. The only time I had a noise problem was when I had a room on the second floor above Big River. It was June and people were out late on the boardwalk making noise. I always request top floor and that was the only time I got 2nd, most times I get 3 or 4.

Rented BW points a long time ago, maybe 2001, and that's one of the things that sold me on DVC. We ended up on the 3rd floor above Big River Grill. I stayed up far too late watching Spaceship Earth each night!

Still haven't bought BWV points, but that's in the back of my mind.

Our vote will be for Boardwalk view.

It could be a bit loud from the passers by or people gathering around boardwalk performers, and from the sound of the warning horn from the boat transports.

But we love it.

Really hope it is worth it as this will be the first time we have managed to book a BW view.

Just came back from BWV and for the fifth time we had a boardwalk view. This trip we got the GV on the 3rd floor underneath the Boardwalk sign and had a balcony that stretched the whole length of the GV - 100' !!!

There's no other view in WDW that I would do again.

I love when people bring their webcams and stream form their boardwalk view balconies. I leave it on and turn the sound up and go about my business in the house and the sounds just bring me back to WDW.

My DW thinks I'm crazy!! Which is ok because I think she is too.....

We're going for our first BWV in May. We booked a standard view. What is the view of, and any thing good to request? We will have a small baby without a car, and (we've only stayed in AKV) so we're concerned about being closer to the lobby. Any suggestions? Would requesting a higher floor be better even for a standard view?

Not worth it, in my opinion, at all. We had a BWV studio once and DH thought it was way too noisy, didn't appreciate it in the least. But we're not really 'view' people, don't spend enough time in the room to dwell on it anyway. Matter of fact, we prefer the standard view villas at AKV so we're probably just weird! Just not that much on looking out windows, I guess!

Same here, when someone puts a live web cam on the boardwalk view room-I leave it on the whole time and just listen. Same would be if someone puts on at BLT-that train is great to here-we left our balcony door open just for that.

Same here!! We stayed at BLT this past december, reserved a standard view, and ended up in a "standard" view, with a partial view of MK....
We LOVED that horn!!! It makes me happy!

We LOVE the BW view! We were on the 2nd floor once and a BW performer did a card trick with one of our guests. He used a device that stretched all the way up to our balcony so our guest could pick a card. It was fantastic!!!! I request the BW view Everytime we go!!!

Board walk view at BWV is by far the best place we've stayed! The best experience and location hands down.

Is BW view worth it? Without a doubt, yes!! I did a 50-point add-on after my first BW-view stay because I loved the view so much and wanted that view every time.

BWV is well worth it. Don't worry about the veiw, you probably wont be there much.
