BoardwalkVillas

excellent post, judique :lmao: and lest we forget, at BWVs you don't have the wonderful noise and beauty of cars just outside your room:headache:. as said, you have to deal with the mundane: sunlight glistening on the lake with spaceship earth in the background, watching illuminations' fireworks (and some of wishes) from your private balcony, etc. alas, you actually have to walk a little bit to get to the parking lot (or use valet), so it is not visible from most of the rooms.
after staying at almost all the moderate, deluxe, and DVC resorts, the BWVs is our absolute favorite :cloud9: no other resort has the myriad of activities: free street performers, carny games, surrey bikes, jellyrolls/belle vue lounge/atlantic dance hall (21yo and up), community hall, quiet areas for reading, tennis, work-out facilities, arcade, hairbraiding/portraits, bakery, ESPN, candy shop, pizza, funnel cakes, various restaurants, and you can just walk (or take a ferry) to 2 parks. there are 3 pools: one old-time themed with a winding slide that ends with the rider shooting out of a clown's mouth, hot tub, a kids' play area, and organized games. the quiet pool is in front of community hall where you can rent dvds - frre for DVC members, bikes, play board and or video games, ping-pong, read, do crafts. the BWI pool reminds me of a maxfield parrish painting.: beautiful, etheral, secluded and quiet, almost dream-like.
the details throughout the resort itself is astounding with a sculpture of gilded horses hanging in the striking entry, old viewers, big plush seating, a perfectly executed mini-carousel that actually circles, an amazing replica of the main pool, miscellanous "artifacts" on tables and above the fireplace, and architecture makes even long-time vistors gape in awe.
in our entire extended family, ages 5 through 85, every single one has refused to stay anywhere else since giving many other resorts a try - there just isn't any resort that has the amazing options available at the BWVs, or the opportunity to do nothing at all, in the middle of it all :cloud9:

So, if I am understanding you correctly, you like BWV? :rotfl2: Our family does also!

just a smidge ;)
it's not just that BWV is our home resort (like many, we also own others). even people i have taken to the BWVs have deemed it their favorite, despite staying at many other WDW and DVC resorts (it could be that they are just afraid of me, but i don't think i'm very big or intimitating :confused3 lol).

the entire atmosphere, where it can be relaxing or exciting, and the vast array of activities within walking distance - we just haven't found any other resort (including many non-wdw resorts) that offers even nearly as much :lovestruc

geez, april is far away :guilty:

my family and i just got back from another great disney vacation at the boardwalk we had a great time but...I got to tell ya the only thing i like about the boardwalk is the location the bus service was terrible i understand what disney is thinking with the epcot resorts by sharing a bus with swan/dolphin and yacht and beach club and boardwalk. But by the time the bus gets around to boardwalk we were always left standing so not fair. Why can't disney just give swan/dolphin yacht beach club there own and boardwalk are own bus.Evey single time we went back to our resort we always got off at the swan and walked back cause by the time we got back to the room the bus was not even back yet.But we had a great time anyways wow the crowds the christmas were crazy!!!!

there's not much to do but hang in an old fashioned room with disney tv. you'll probably have to sleep on the fold out couch.....

be sure to bring lots of video games because if you get a bw view room, you won't enjoy the view. it's too much water and beautiful buildings with boats and possibly fireworks going off at nite

and, you'll have to walk the ten minutes to epcot and hollywood studios, esp if you don't like boats.

stay off the boardwalk at night...there are people out there carrying on til all hours having fun playing games, eating and watching the street performers. I've heard that's extremely noisy if you don't shut your sliding door

and beware of the espn club - I hear they have tv screens with nothing but sports on them and wings and beer and soda and nachos to eat

there is a scary clown pool and a quiet pool and a community center and you can rent a bike or a movie....if you want to pay for the movie you can't....they wont let you use money, just your room card if you are a member

and the internet is wireless and free, don't use it....it's a trap

you could walk for miles inside those halls....people have been known to be lost since 1996

and the dining....they have a flying fish cafe ...imagine...trying to eat a flying fish!! And a greek place, plus they sell ice cream, candy, pizza and they actually have a bakery! anything just to get your dollar!

Oh and I forgot the screen door...don't forget to close it...the souvenirs might get out!

people are actually expected to sit around here in a rocking chair on a porch!

and there are scary chairs in the lobby....some so big you might get swallowed up

I could go on and on about why you shouldn't stay here

are you going soon? I'll be there next week.....could't get nothing else at 11 months......
Alas, the rooms haven't been updated in..at least 2 years.:scared1: It's really a drag, watching the Boardwalk come to life in the morning, while sitting on my balcony...sipping coffee. The agony....

I haven't been since October, and I'm REALLY homesick!!

Ooh I HATE BWV!

Haha, just kidding. We own at BLT but BWV is our absolute FAVORITE hands down. I hesitated to say that though bc like EL&A'smom said, ..... The more people who know about it makes it harder for me to get my reservation.:lmao:

Some people seem to be scared by the Clown in the waterslide, saying they could never stay at the BWV because of that.

Maybe that's what you read and interpreted as it being a bad resort?

BWV is our favourite resort of all, this is why we bought another contract at BWV, but like others have said not all people like some of the resorts for different reasons. We also own at OKW and we dont like stay there.

OP er what did you hear that was bad?:goodvibes

BWV is a large, busy resort. Some complain about the noise and long hallways. Also, parking can be an issue, at times.

We love BWV:love: It's location, proximity to World Showcase, and numerous dining/entertainment choices...are just a few of the reasons. We tend to end up in a different country every night.;):rotfl2:

We stayed at BWV 2 summers ago. We had a BW view and it was AMAZING. We loved being able to walk to DHS and Epcot and there is a lot to do. That being said we did a split stay that trip at AKV-Kidani and even though we had a refurbished room at BW it couldn't compare to the newness of AKV or the parking if you have a car. Definitely can't beat the location/view at BW!!

This will be our first time at BWV and we can't wait, we stayed at BCV a few times back and the convenience of the location to both EPCOT and HS is wonderful. I can't wait to check out the nightlife and the pool was spectacular. I hope it lives up to my expectations, but I feel that it will, this will be the our 5th different club resort and my DH thinks it will be his favorite. I did truly enjoy AKV Kadani but it is a bit far from resort other than AK, the room layout was the best of all the ones we've stayed in. Hope you keep you ressie and give it a try, from what I hear it's worth it. :cheer2:
