I am a DVC member and will be staying at the Boardwalk for the first time this summer. Over the years we have stayed at different deluxe resorts and found things we like and do not like about each one. One thing I am looking forward to is being able to walk to two parks. Let me know what other things you like about the Boardwalk and what things I need to make sure I do when staying there.

Some of the things I love to do at Boardwalk:
- Buy a pastry or dessert and hang out on one of the benches or tables on the Boardwalk
- Watch the performers at night
- Go to Jellyrolls (the dueling piano bar)

A few things that are on my list for next time: Abracadabar, walking to the Dolphin for more quick service food options, and walking across the street for mini golf.

Have a great trip! BWV is my home resort :-)

Ample Hills creamery, too.

Another thing we always enjoy - letting the kids play on the green before or after dinner.

Love BWV and the whole BoardWalk area! We enjoy renting one of the surrey bikes and riding it around the lake. It's also nice to walk over to Epcot and get breakfast in the France pavilion. Ample Hills is really good, and Fantasia Gardens mini golf nearby is fun. I miss the breakfast at Kouzzina but we did like the character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno. Walking to both parks is easy and so convenient - especially this summer since TSL will be open and crowds will likely be higher. Have a fun trip!

I love getting breakfast at the France pavilion! They have a lot more options than the Boardwalk Bakery and it's super quiet in the morning :-)

If they still offer it, there was a short, free tour of the Boardwalk and what inspired it's theme. I really enjoyed that. I also love sitting on the second level in the rocking chairs overlooking the green and the actual boardwalk. It is really nice there. I enjoy time in the lounge there as well.

Love BWV! My only issue with BWV is if it's raining out and it's over a meal time (and there is no end in sight for the rain). You pretty much have to go outside to get a meal (if you don't have any food in your room). In all the times that we've stayed there though, this has only been a problem once.

You could call for room service or order something delivered from off-site too.

Have a great trip!

I hold the opposite opinion of the surrey bikes. If you think to yourself “hey! that looks fun!” That’s just your mind playing tricks on you. It’s not fun! It’s torture. There are two bridges that are about the size of Everest. (I swear they grow once you mount the surrey bike) In order to make it up them you have to be going at light speed. Just try going at light speed with 8 million people on the boardwalk that you have to try not to run over. Then, if you are lucky enough to get to the top of the hill without having to do the push the surrey bike up the hill walk of shame, you go careening down the other side, and again have to not run over people. It’s frankly terrifying and exhausting. Certainly not for the unfit.

As for things I do like, the two performers on the boardwalk that we saw were great. Ample Hills and the Bakery are both delicious. The community hall has a free pin ball machine and Galaga and Mrs. Pac-Man.

Hilarious! This reminds me of those giant water bikes with smiling couples riding them, that seem to be advertised with every Caribbean resort. Then when you actually take one out, you see all the other couples who got suckered into it, also grimacing and pedaling as if their lives depended on it, trying to make it back to shore from 20 feet out.

Yes yes yes!!! The surrey bike is the paddle boat of land. Horrible things paddle boats no matter where you put them.

The photobooths, on the other hand... hotter than Hades in the summer, but fun for a goofy family picture. We will do this again and hope to have a sequence over the years.

Oh yeah the photobooths are really fun and included on Photopass if you have it!

I guess we're the odd ones out! We really did like the surrey bikes (we also like paddle boats) :P Although when we've done it, it hasn't been terribly hot or crowded and this was also a few years back when we were always in training for a half marathon. We were even crazy enough to do it once after running a half marathon. Maybe I would feel differently now since I'm definitely not in the same shape as I was pre-baby, and even back then those hills were not easy :D
