Looking for some opinions please, especially from any members who have stayed at the Boardwalk....we have a reservation booked at WL for 6 night's 10/8 through 10/14/15. I just received at opportunity to book at Boardwalk studio villa for the same period. We've never stayed at the Boardwalk, in fact we've never even visited the site. Should we change our plans and move to the Boardwalk?

We love the Epcot Resort area and if you are visiting in October I think it is the perfect time to stay at the Boardwalk. You can walk to Epcot and use the International Gateway entrance, you'll have easy access to the Food and Wine booths. The Boardwalk Villas are so nice and it is an easy walk from there to DHS as well. I'm definitely biased but I think it is a good switch!

BWV during F&W is a no-brainer for me! You can't beat being able to walk through EPCOT's back door and right in to the festival! And you can also walk to HS if the weather is nice and you feel up to a stroll. Add to it the proximity to S/D restaurants, Y&BC restaurants and the entire Boardwalk of shops and restaurants and it's a winner! We love it so much that we bought DVC there.

You need to think about which theme park you will be visiting the most during this trip. Will you have young children with you? The WL has better access to the MK and the BW has better access to Epcot/DHS. AS PP said, the BW is especially nice in October..

Both resorts are awesome! Enjoy whichever one you choose!

Who is in your party? How Many? What are their ages? I agree with Babsy - which park(s) are you going to spend the most time at?
We love the Boardwalk Villas. I love the location and being able to walk to 2 parks is great.
Do you realize that the DVC Villas (except OKW) have 1 queen bed and a double sized pull out couch? You will not have 2 real beds if that makes a difference. As a couple only, we love that arrangement as it gives us more "living" space during the day. Also with a DVC studio you will have a "kitchenette" with a small fridge, bar sink, microwave, toaster, and a coffeemaker. Good for a quick breakfast in the room.
Good Luck with your decision.

Sounds terrific to me, as long a you know what it means. The other poster mentioned the bedding. If this is booked with points (not through Disney for scads of money) the Housekeeping situation will be much different than a hotel room.

I never book a hotel based on what parks we are going to. If I can walk somewhere it's a bonus, not a reason. Afterall, we go to all parks on our trips and so there will be transportation of some sort most days.

That's a tough one! Both are FAB. We stayed at both resorts during F&W over the years and BWV is definitely convenient because of its location. Loved walking in and out of IG with no fuss. Heaven.

Are you in a regular resort room (two beds) at WL? Do you absolutely have to have two queen beds? If not, I would go with BWVs. You will have a micro, fridge, sink, toaster, coffee maker and paper products. Very nice for snacks and breakfasts. You can walk, or boat, to DHS and Epcot. That's a huge plus. But, you will have a queen bed and a double sleep sofa. We have never had an issue with anyone sleeping on the sleep sofa...they all say it was very comfy. If you will be booking using points, then you will not get daily housekeeping at BW. But if it's a cash deal, through Disney, then you will get daily housekeeping the same as any regular non-DVC resort gets.

If you plan to spend most of your time at MK, or if you have little ones, then WL may be a better fit.

NO BRAINER.......DO it now b4 it's too late, for this is a popular destination for the time period you are traveling in.... You won't be disappointed.....It's the COMPLETE opposite of WL, if you ask me....
