Hi,

My cousin's daughter is getting married at WDW and the reception is at the Boardwalk, next year. I'd love to attend, not only for the wedding, but also to see family.

I have a Boardwalk Villa on hold from RCI, a studio. What is the bedding like?

I have always wanted to stay at the Beach Club....should I try an ongoing search for Beach Club Villas, or just be happy with Boardwalk? It will be January, so we wouldn't be at the pool alot anyway. But, we did use the pool at the Polynesian in December, so using the pool isn't out of the question for us, weather wise.

I don't know if I can even swing this trip or not, I'm just information gathering at this point. Dh says I can attend, and maybe take youngest ds (age 12). DD will be a freshman in HS, and she already wants a Disney wedding and even watches the travel channel about Disney weddings, so would be devastated if I went without her.

ANy input is appreciated.

A BWV studio has 1 queen size bed and 1 sofa which pulls out to be a double size sleeper. The room sleeps 4. There will also be a small refrigerator, microwave, 12 cup coffee pot (uses the large basket filters), and toaster.

Since you might have a boy & girl with you, you could bring a sleeping bag and put one of them on the floor.

They are basically the same room. If you have a villa, does that mean you have the 1 bedroom? If so you get a king size bed, which is very large and very comfortable, and then the sofa in the living room pulls out to a bed. The sofa beds are slightly more comfortable than the ones you find at a Marriott, and both of my sons found it to be fine to sleep on...they are 4 and 8...however they are still a sofa bed, so not that supportive.

You should be able to get the layout of the room if you go to the disney website and click on the hotel, then click on roomlayouts.

I hope you can go, there really is something amazing about a Disney wedding.

Beach Club and Boardwalk are definitely within walking distance of each other.

January weather is usually good for swimming, but not always. That is especially true if you come from colder climates. My nephews enjoyed the BW pool and slide.

We love boardwalk, but I think the bigger question is...Do you want to be right with the wedding party, or would you prefer a little space? Even though BC is close, it is a different resort. I think if you are in the same resort, you could just ring the room #, if you wanted to reach everybody else.

Personally, if everyone else is in the BWI, and you are in the BWV...that would be the perfect amount of space away. JMHO

BWV is very nice and Lovely place for a Disney Wedding. There is alot of activity on the boardwalk so no problems getting bored and dining options are Great...The Pool in January can be hit or miss sometimes crazy weather....Kids will love it. Shawnpirate:

I can't speak much regarding the villa's, as my experience has been at the inn.

During a Magical Express drop off in route to the Movie's resort, a vacation my two daughters and I took in 2003, I fell in love with the Boardwalk. Single at the time I vowed I would stay there one day. My wish came true when my second wife and I spent time at the Boardwalk in 2006 for our first anniversary. It was one of the best vacations we've took at WDW thus far.

The thoughts of the ambiance or a Boardwalk wedding on top of that. My suggestion is to find a way to swing it, you won't be disappointed.

Well, I managed to book a one bedroom Boardwalk Villa for myself and a studio Boardwalk Villa for my parents, through a RCI exchange.

I think I will be happy with the convenience factor (since I'm sure other family will stay at the Boardwalk hotel). I just didn't want to take a chance that I wasn't able to get another exchange and I was left in the cold.

Now I get to plan another Disney trip!

I assume you know about the two $95 fees in addition to the two exchange fees.

yeah, it doesn't make me extraordinarily happy, but I knew about it ahead of time, so will pay it.

We would be paying $279 for a standard view (tax included) at the Boardwalk Hotel for the wedding, so this still seems like a better deal for me (I know I pay the maintenance fees and exchange fees, so it's not really free, but it seems free, KWIM??)

My parents used to do my daycare, and still pick up kids after school and get them to their activities, so this is a nice way to thank them (they weren't able to "see" DVC with their RCI deposit, so couldn't do the exchange themselves)
