Hey gang,

I am looking at staying at Boardwalk villas in a one bedroom in November. Any one stayed there? Did you like it? I have a dd3, is the pool good for little ones? Does it really cost $10 a day to park? Any good or bad experiences or any links to previous posts?

Thanks much.
Naomi

staying onsite at WDW you don't pay for parking.

if you stayed offsite then parking is $12 per day to park in the WDW theme parking lots.

you will love BWV

We are DVC members and have stayed in a one bedroom at BWV in Sept 2007. We are staying there again in January 2009. We enjoy the resort. My kids (5 and 3) love the pool. I think they like it as much as SAB, b/c they are able to do clown slide at BWV all by themselves (unlike the slide at SAB). You can't beat the location of the resort either- walking distance to both HS and Epcot.

We love the one bedrooms at BWV's. We have stayed many times.
There is no fee for self parking. Only fee is if you valet, which is nice.

Pool is fine, the entire resort is great!

Think You Have Got It Confused With The Swan And Dolphin As For The Parking Fee. No Charge At Disney Hotels.

You will love BWV - especially if you are EPCOT fans. The walk over to International Gateway is very convenient.....AND an easy walk to the former MGM. With your little person.....there is a boat shuttle and that will be a BALL!! MY DH and I stay at BWI generally but will try the 1 bedroom for our December trip.

I have stayed there with a DVC friend but I'm looking forward to the daily maid service and probably will not be able to get my DH out of the jacuzzi tub!!!

One disapointment with DVC 1 bedroom villas is the limitation of a sofabed. Yes, yes, yes....I have heard from the DVC folks about how FABULOUS the DVC sofabeds are....but it's still a sofabed. If you are traveling with a second adult couple....I would HATE to be the couple stuck sleeping on a pull-out couch for a week.

In my opinion that forces a DVC members to upgrade (and use more points) for a 2 BR Villa if you want to offer the courtesy of an actual bed for your adult guests. (I suspect for children the pull-out is an adventure!)

The only other disappointment for Boardwalk is the bus situation. We are not bus people in any sense and always rent a car .... but to share a bus with Swan, Dolphin, YC and BC when you pay as much as some people do for Deluxe rooms is just obscene.

You may find it easier to walk over to the Swan and pickup the shuttles on the first stop.

Boardwalk is one of our favorites. They have always managed to give us very nice rooms.

....just our opinion.

you know the last time stayed at BW - it was the first stop - then it went to pick up dolphin and swan.

bc & yc share their own bus mostly.

only once that trip did all 5 resort share a bus.

definitely agree about the sofa beds - in my 40's and early 50's could easily do the sofa bed - now in my late 50's - it is so good anymore.

bring an air mattress these days.

was hoping that DVC would finally get the murphy beds - a real bed - but they are just using them like the chair beds. so you still have the sofa bed.

the newer sofa beds are surpose to be more comfortable - but they are definitely designed for thinner people.

The 1 bd is great. BWV is so close to both Epcot and the Studios.

We were at the Beach Club in July and never shared once with the Boardwalk, only Yacht Club. I think during busier times, the bus is Swan/Dolphin and Boardwalk.

No, we were at BWV atThanksgiving 2007 and we never shared a bus.

I think the bus sharing is probably seasonal and capacity driven, as I've been there and shared buses with all five resorts, and I've been there and shared with one or two other resorts.

BWV is a great location. I was in a one bedroom last January, and it was great. I was kind of far away from the lobby, which some people complain about, but in reality, it didn't seem like any farther walk than my "far away" room at BCV did. I felt like I was almost exactly centered between Epcot and DHS (which I like to walk to in the cooler months). I had a really wonderful view of the quiet pool and S/D resorts.

The only issue I have with BWI/BWV is that you have to go outside the resort to visit any restaurants. Most of the time, it's not an issue, but if you hit a really rainy day, it's just not so convenient. When I've stayed at BCV, I can walk under cover to any of the BC or YC restaurants. But other than that, and not being a pool person, I would consider BCV and BWV to be equally enjoyable.

With the exception of a small exposed area on the BWI side of the Village Green, you can actually walk under cover by hugging the building all the way to the Flying Fish, and then you can access Seashore Sweets and Spoodles via interior doorways.

We stayed at BW Villas this past January in a two bedroom and honestly, we didn't love it. It was very clean but quite worn, IMO. I just expected it to be nicer, after looking at the pictures online.

Another thing is the walk...I was warned that it was long, but boy is it loooonnggg! And I don't know about the pool but it was being rehabbed but it looks like a lot of fun.

We stayed 1/2 the time at BWV but switched to Poly 1/2 way through...it's just our preference. It's very nice but for us didn't work until the kids are older.
