Boardwalk villas vs Beach Club

Hello. I'm sorry for another where should we stay thread, but here it goes.

We are going down for a week with myself, my husband, our 3 year old, and 16 month old. I booked the beach club woods view a few months back with the dining plan and park hoppers. We love Epcot and plan on using our park hoppers to spend several evenings there and the proximity to the IG is ideal. My daughter would enjoy the sand in storm along bay and would want to spend hours building sand castles and playing in the water. I think the resort would be a great fit for our family.

However, with the Free dining promotion I was able to book a one bedroom villa at the boardwalk for just $200 more for the week. Having the different sleep spaces, full kitchen, and laundry right there appeals to me.

Which would you choose? Are there major pluses or drawbacks to either resort?

Thank you for your opinions.

Id go Boardwalk for $200. The circus themed pool area may appeal better to the kids. The kitchen for the fridge (DDP leftovers), the extra space and the washer/dryer. Also, no rear woods Beachclub mosquitos (zicha still an issue?).

I would take the 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk over a regular hotel room. With kids that age the extra space (great for when they sleep), the kitchen (breakfasts, snacks and even dinner if they are cranky and you don't want to go out), and the washing machine for any dirty clothes make a 1 bedroom a winner for me. The only thing I can think of is that for some Stromalong Bay is better than the boardwalk pool. But to be honest at that age the kids won't know the difference.

There is no QS option at Boardwalk. There are some dining options (Pizza, Ice Cream) with walk up windows but to QS. The Broadway Bakery has a very limited menu for savory options. I do however agree that you'll love the villa and and the conveniences it offers. You'll love the space, kitchen and laundry!

The 1 bedroom is nice as you can cook breakfast in the morning, but one nice thing is you won't have to pack as much since you can do laundry in your own room!

I would definitely stay at the Boardwalk. It's such a great resort and walking distance to two parks.

I love the BC and I think all of your reasons are valid.
That said, the conveniences offered by a 1 BR Villa for a young family are wonderful. In addition to the added space to spread out, the fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher for your sippy cups, and the washer and dryer are wonderful.
We get an order from Garden Grocer when in a Villa. We order juice, fruit, water, breakfast foods, soda, beer and wine and snacks. We eat breakfast in our room every morning while getting dressed. Then we use our QS credits for lunch and our TS credits for a sit down dinner.
You are still within walking distance to Epcot and DHS is a nice walk as well.
Have a Great Trip.

The Boardwalk Bakery is the QS option at BWI/BWV and has a more varied menu than the QS at BC if QS is important to you.

For me it would come down to what is more important to you and your family. The pool at SAB with the big kids area and the smaller slide at the Flying Jib or the space, W/D and kitchen that the 1-bedroom will offer. We LOVE BWV. It's our favorite resort, but the pool isn't great for smaller children.

For $200, dining and a separate bedroom, I would hands down choose Boardwalk. You're still in the same perfect EPCOT area, the pool just isn't as great at Beach Club's. Your 3 year old won't notice the difference though and still have blast.

Thanks Marthasor, I must have looked at old menus, Broadway Bakery looks much better than I recalled!

Boardwalk Villa! WE were upgraded last year from a studio to a 1Bd villa and it was amazing! Full kitchen was great, we ate breakfast in the room every AM. Having our own laundry was so nice, we did laundry every day. We would go through two complete outfits every day, so laundry was a necessity.

There is so much more space in the Villa, you will love it.

Walking to the IG is still really easy from the BWV.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I did switch to the villa. I was 99% sure that is where I wanted to be, but wanted to ask just in case I was missing something. We've always stayed at AKL and I'm not really familiar with the Epcot resorts as we've never even been to any of the restaurants there. I think it is going to be the best fit for all the reasons listed here and I'm excited. Thank you again.
