Boardwalk Villas - To walk, boat or bus?

I see some places say walking to Epcot from boardwalk is 5 minutes but plandisney says 10-20. I’m guessing it is based on room location? I’m looking at a studio room.

Are you staying in the Inn or the Villas?

If you factor the middle of Boardwalk where the bicycle rental is on the boardwalk, I'd say it's a 5-10 minute walk. But it all depends on how fast you walk.

It's .3 miles.

If you don't want to walk then take the boat which goes directly from Boardwalk to Epcot.

It depends on where in Epcot the measurement is indicating, most measurements don't include walking within the internal always which might add an addition of about 7 minutes from the furthest DVC units.

Normally it is about 7 minutes to the Epcot International Gateway for the middle of the actual Boardwalk area at the Friendship dock. If you were measuring the distance from the BW to the front of Epcot for the Monorail that's where you get the up to 20 minutes.

It will take you more than 10 minutes to walk to Epcot from a studio room in the villas. I would plan on 15 minutes or more. There are very long hallways and limited exits at the Boardwalk.

If someone is a DLR vet that is used to super close walking distance, is BWV better than BCV? I keep going back and forth. If possible, we would like to walk to both HS and Epcot. BWV seems like it could be more centrally located, but the talk of long hallways has me hesitating. I don't want to feel like I'm in the movie The Shining! 😂

As you surmised, BCV is closer to Epcot but farther from DHS. BWV is roughly in the middle, but it also depends on where your room is, especially if you can take the stairs. Going down the stairs at the end of the back hallway of the BWV building lets you out on the walkway to DHS, and you’re halfway there!

We stayed at Boardwalk resort view room last September and walked to both parks. 10-15 min from our room to Hollywood Studios (study the resort map and took a rear exit from our building right onto the walkway along the lake/river down to the park). Epcot is even closer.

For simplicity at BW we use 10 minutes estimate to EP and 15 minutes to HS.

Walking EP to HS is roughly 25 minutes if you go past BW but not cut thru the pool area.
