I'm trying to decide whether to purchase 30 points at BWV (Standard Studio, Sunday - Thursday, Off Season) or add on to my current Poly contract. For current owners, how hard is it book a standard studio at exactly 11 months out? Do you have to "walk" rooms or can you get a resevation pretty easily? I've read that it's near to impossible to get them at 7 months out.

Those are very difficult. It takes a lot of work and walking is needed if you especially want from mid September through mid January.

I would not buy BWV with the plan of getting them. Consider when you do a bonus, I used to own BWV and the last few years of owning, I could not get SV studios in October right at 11 months.

I think you will be disappointed with only 30 BWV points to work with. Any changes to the points charts and you could find that you're short on points. As it stands, you won't get Sun.-Thurs. in a standard view studio in Travel Period 1 (the cheapest time). Those four nights go for 36 points in 2021 and could go higher as DVC has been moving to make summers lower in points and the fall dates higher.

Even if you're okay with borrowing every year in order to cover the number of points needed, you will always be chasing after the hardest to get room at your home resort during the most in-demand times. And because you have so few points, you will have difficulty walking a reservation over a weekend or from a higher point period into your low point travel period. And do you really want to have to do that every time you want to use those points at BWV?

I own a 25 point contract at BWV for this exact purpose. I've been able to book a standard studio for labor day weekend without walking for the past several years.

If the Food & Wine Festival remains a 4-month event as it is this year (starts July 15), then maybe demand for the BWV (& BCV) will go down in the fall.

Looking to Rent BWV Points for next May. Like the 7th-14th. Will either need 2 Studios or a 2 Bedroom. Will it be hard to get Standard View for either of those at 11 months in May. (Assuming I can find someone to Rent before the 11th month timeframe).
