do any of the boardwalk studio villas have views of the boardwalk itself?
is it a seperate booking category from preferred? is there a way of guaranteeing a boarkwalk view?
thanks in advance, i'm thinking of renting points for a 1 night stay after our cruise, and i'm trying to choose a resort (i really wanted AKV CL but i've been told its not available for our date - september 27th).
the other resort i'm considering is BLT MK view.

Yes they have studios with a boardwalk view. It is considered a preferred view but you have to request that you want the boardwalk view.

if you book BWview it will be noted on the comformation sheet the owner will get.:goodvibes

BW view is a separate booking category, not a request. You can guarantee it if you book it but you need to do so at opening 11 months out most of the time. Owners there are the only ones with a realistic chance but it doesn't hurt to ask and the wait list does work for some.

September is not one of the busiest months so you may have a chance for a BW view studio even though we are less than 6 months away. If BW view is not available, you could book a preferred water/garden view and waitlist for a BW view. They are the same number of points. Good luck!

I had requested a BW view and was wait listed. On one of the threads it was mentioned about the Village Green view - which is really what I wanted in the first place. I called and requsted a Village Green view, which from what I understand, is not considered a BW view. We had a room on the Green a couple of years ago and it was fanastic. You an see the lake and the Friendship boats and there is a partial, limited view of the boardwalk. You may want to look into that. Have a great trip!

BLT MK View seems to be similar to BWV (too early to really tell) in its availability - i.e. you may be too late to get that view. But you can certainly try - September is a slow time for DVC and things are often available that are less likely to be available the rest of the year.

Be clear with the owner you rent from what you want and what your priority is...i.e. if Boardwalk View is available you want that, if that isn't available try for a MK view at BLT. If that isn't available try for a preferred view at BWVs. Otherwise you end up trading a lot of phone calls - and availability can disappear while those calls are being made.

The Village Green rooms are preferred view and only a request. There are only a few of them. We've had poor luck getting requests met at the Boardwalk, so while you can ask to make Village Green a request on the reservation, I'd show up assuming that I was going to have a room in a different part of the resort.
