We're staying at BWV on a split stay in December - first part in a pool view and second part in a standard view. It's our first stay there and we're not very familiar with the resort. Does anybody have any suggestions of what requests we should make and when we should make them?

Thanks all! :goodvibes

I am here now in a 1 bedroom. What I rec'd at check in was room 4051 which is as close to a Boardwalk view without actually being on the Boardwalk (it is the last room before the BW view rooms begin). It is not a double balcony.

I had requested a top floor, canal view. I would have requested this location but from reading here and other sites I was under the impression that these rooms were only studios. I was pleasantly surprised and even at check-in CM said this is the best room without actually being on the boardwalk.

I think you actually got an upgrade. The rooms x051 are usually considered boardwalk view. I got 5051 as a boardwalk view.

As far as standard view, I always request top floor, across from the bus stop. You get a good view of the high fireworks from Illuminations.

Please tell me more about "double balcony"!

Also is there a list or map of the rooms? I have heard that you might get a handicapped room upon check-in. If you not refuse the room right then and there you can't once you enter the room.

Here are the best maps available for BWV rooms:

Almost all BWV 1 bedrooms have a balcony off the living area and a balcony off the bedroom. Sometimes it is one big balcony, sometimes 2 smaller balconies. There are a couple of rooms with only one balcony off the living area or off the bedroom.

I know that the HA BW view 1 bedroom is 2049. I don't know the numbers of the pool/garden or standard HA 1 bedrooms. You could ask at check-in if the room is an HA room. But BWV is almost always 100% booked so there may or may not be an option if you get a HA assigned. You could have as your request "NOT HA room."

We stayed in a standard view 1 bedroom #3123. It's a corner room and it was huge (OKW huge). It had 3 doors that went out to the balcolny. From one side you could see TOT and Epcot from the other. It was a great room/

We just got back from a stay at BWV and OKW. I never could get online check-in to work, so I wasn't able to put in any requests at BWV. I *thought* I wanted a room close to the elevators and we got rooms 3113 (studio) and 3115 (1-bedroom) = 2-bedroom lock-off. It was pretty far from the elevators! But.... we quickly realized we actually liked that location! We had our car and drove to all the parks (except walked or took the boat to EPCOT/DHS, obviously). We quickly realized that we were close to the stairs that led to the adult/quiet pool. Also quick access to the DHS walkway and the parking lot!

We spent 5 nights in this room. We apparently were never in the room around 9:00 until the last night - Thursday night. (Friday we checked out of BWV and into OKW.) All of a sudden, at around 9:00 or so, I see FIREWORKS through the curtains! We could see fireworks from our balcony!! (And a good view of them!) Well, at least from the balcony for 3115. 3113 was completely obstructed by a tree. Wish we had known sooner that we could see the fireworks from our balcony!

Overall, we loved staying at BWV but wished we had taken advantage of the BW more than we did. One night we happened to catch a little of the entertainment on the BW. Our teenagers saw more than we did (spent less time in parks than we did). Really wish we had spent more time on the BW itself! And wish we had discovered the fireworks from our balcony sooner!
