Hi there, wondering if someone can update me on some info. I booked my first DVC stay as an owner for March at BWV. I thought I was clever as BCV is undergoing that long awaited refurb so I avoided this.
I just read somewhere else that BWV is also slated for refurb fall 2014/early 2015- is this accurate? I thought that BWV just had a recent refurb (maybe it was just Boardwalk inn?) Has BWV ever had a refurb?

Thanks

BWV had a total refurb late 2009/early 2010 (opened 1996). I was there last month, I don't think it needs a refurb yet. Sometimes they just do "soft goods", meaning bedding, couches, etc. I wouldn't be concerned about March.

They were doing work on the Inn side when I was there.

I have seen and heard nothing about a refurb at BWV that, according to the rumor you heard, would have already started. There was one in 2009-10 and one in 2003 and I would not expect another to begin until late 2015 or 2016. Based on my latest visits to BWV, what I expect to see sooner, though I have heard nothing on it, is a refurb of the boardwalk itself since the boards are showing quite a bit of wear.

Thanks to both of you- that was what I thought as well. I can't even find the website that had it up now anyways. All good

Sorry to say ........... but it is coming this year . Permits have already been filed .

Just click on "I acknowledge" to access the document (Notice of Commencement Permit) .

It must be for soft goods only, as the completion date is 11/27/15

Very unlikely that this is a resort-wide refurbishment. At last December's condo association meeting, DVC representatives listed all of the properties that were within 3 years of their next scheduled refurb. BWV was not on that list.

Most likely that this permit relates to work on a single guest room...or something else much more limited in scope than a traditional "hard goods" or "soft goods" refurbishment.

BTW, Disney construction permits are typically issued for a period of 1 year and can always be renewed if necessary.

The other possible option could be that they are remodeling the DVC model room at the Boardwalk level to a "Poly" model room :scratchin
It strange to see the permit encompass the entire Villas building though, vs just one room .
The permit filed does say "Guestroom rehab" though .
