Is my assumption correct that all Boardwalk Views are relatively noisy?
I'm sure that the Boardwalk View is beautiful, but concerned about the noise;
Very light sleeper...

Are there any preferred views that are quiet? Contemplating booking a 1 BR unit...Would like to use the stairways for easy access and not have extremely long walk to elevator....

Anyone have any suggestions for request? Thanks to all you experts in advance!:cool1:

We had a preferred view on the village green. Although we could see the boardwalk, it was not noisy. We were right by the elevator and stairs and found it convenient. We were in a studio though, not a 1 bdrm and I don't know if those are offered in that section.

If you book a one bedroom villa paying cash you view will be garden, possibly pool but not Boardwalk.

We've been in the same general area twice for Boardwalk view - 2nd floor above the general store. It's the only time I've been woken up at Disney both after falling asleep and again early in the morning and I'm not a very light sleeper. So yes, at least some of the Boardwalk view rooms are noise IMO.

We found a pool view was also noisy. We were overlooking the scary clown pool in February and that was pretty noisy during the daytime. Not so bad a night.

Boardwalk view is by far the best view. Loudest noise is boat horns. Really quite quiet when balcony doors closed. Other views are really not noisy. If you want deadly quiet then just ask for view of the "quiet pool." However, that gives longer walk to elevator

I agree the only sounds you hear when the doors are closed are the Friendship Boats crossing Crescent Lake. Last year we did have one issue with sound. We had a one bedroom villa, it was the last room next to Jellyrolls. We could hear faint music not enough to wake you or keep you up. One year we had a Boardwalk view. We could watch Illuminations and Wishes from our balcony. What is really nice is sitting on you balcony listening to the Boardwalk music, watching the Friendship boats and people watching.

I think this really depends on what's going on. We had village green view in 2000 and some youth soccer team(s) playing was quite loud pretty late into the night.

We've also stayed on 2nd floor above the restaurants and had it not be loud at all.

I thinkr requesting the quiet pool as a preferred view may be best.

I find ALL of Boardwalk to be noisy. Most of the preferred view rooms overlook a pool - which is not always a place of peace and quiet at Disney. Illuminations can be heard from any point,even if you can't see it. The hallways see a lot of traffic - they are loud and families are heading to the pool or the elevator at all hours with little kids excited to go see Mickey.

I love Boardwalk, but if you are looking for quiet, I'd just pick a different resort.

OR ask for a room far away from the elevators, LOL. In my experience, most of the "disturbing" noise (other than IllumiNations, which I don't mind, and is very predictable) comes from other guests in the hallways. That's probably true for all of the resorts that have interior hallways.

I too am a very light sleeper, especially away from home.
My only BWV stay so far was a standard view studio. It was about as far away as you could possibly get, overlooking a back drainage ditch or something, but only one villa away from the stairs. It was quiet, but still there was traffic or something sounds. And NO view. (We were low, so trees blocking views. Others on top floors but same spot probably had a view of sorts.)
I really want to book a BW view sometime though. It just looks so beautiful in people's pictures and sounds so great in people's descriptions.
Maybe try a Tylenol PM?

I've stayed boardwalk view several times and only 1 time had an issue with noise. I always request top floor and usually get 3 or 4. One time I was on 2, right above Big River. It was June and people were out late on the boardwalk talking and laughing. That's the only time noise bothered me.

More at the Boardwalk because of the size of the resort - those hallways ARE long and there is a single set of elevators at the end of the hall. So anyone not taking the stairs has to walk to the same point.

There are other resorts with long hallways, but the elevators don't bottleneck up the same way BWVs does.

VWL has probably a third of the rooms on their hallways - still the same bottleneck - but far fewer rooms along the hall. BCV has more elevators - so the traffic spreads out.

Is a quiet pool view request considered standard or preferred as far as points?

Thanks very much! Perhaps high floor quiet pool view request might eliminate some noise???:goodvibes

Preferred pool view. I had a 5th floor room over the quiet pool once and there wasn't any noise.

I would think that would be your best chance for maximizing quiet. High and over the quiet pool. Also, if you can get one of the "arms" of the resort so you are off the main hall, you'll cut down on hall noise. You'll have a hike to the elevator, but it should be quieter.

Boardwalk views are not necessarily quiet. I was recently in a one bedroom (boardwalk view) last room, in the long, long hall.:scared1:
If you keep your balcony doors open during the day you will hear the boat horns and the piped music playing. During the night, you can hear people on the boardwalk and even their conversations (some people coming out of Jellyrolls can be loud). I don't mind the noise but it could definitely disturb small children sleeping.The
noise ends by about 2am on Friday/Saturday. However, if you close your balcony doors, it will be much quieter. Personally, I like the fresh air.:yay:

I'm Sure Boardwalk View is Beautiful and Fun, But Light Sleepers and Boardwalk I don't think mixes well!:scared1::scared1:

Hopefully, highest floor possible overlooking quiet pool request will work!!!

Thanks for all your input!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
