I seem to remember reading somewhere that if your a DVC member you get free valet parking at Boardwalk Villas. My question is my sister who is a DVC member is letting me use some of her DVC points for my family in March so would I be eligible for the free valet parking? My sister won't be there but the reservation is in my name but with her points. Any info would be great!

:confused3

No, you won't receive free valet. You need the member card. Since you're not a member and your sister won't be with you, you won't qualify.

We stayed at VWL in August on rented points. We were able to valet park for free at the Boardwalk just by mentioning DVC. Mind you, we had just become brand new members and were eager to whip out our cards but we were not asked to. :wave2:

Last week we resort hopped a lot for my sister's wedding. At DVC resorts we were allowed to park free, never was asked for my card. Often they asked me first. A few times I got mixed up which resort we were at (WL vs AKL) and they told me I only got free parking at DVC but gave it to me anyway. If you do pay once, they give you a pass that is good for the entire day, which is what my parents did. Sometimes even they got to park free for being with us. I think this is a very loosely tracked perk, but we were careful not to push if we were told "no" so that the priviledge won't be revoked.

I've never been asked for my card at BWV when staying there. I think they just go by the "member parking permit", which I believe you will get since your reservation is on points.

We stayed at BWV in Oct (we had a FABULOUS time, BTW) amd we were able to get free valet parking. We let the valet take the car, and when it was time to pick it up, we just went up to the podium with our room key in hand. The room key says "DVC Member" on them, even though we were renting points. We were never questioned.

I do believe that technically, only DVC members are supposed to get free valet parking. I was operating on a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

We had guests staying with us, and they used the parking pass issued at check-in. Neither they nor I were asked to present a DVC card.
