Boardwalk Villas and Dolphin stay

Hi, we have a trip planned for an October stay at Boardwalk Villas. We have family that just decided they want to join us and can only find availability at The Dolphin. Has anyone traveled with parties staying at Boardwalk and Dolphin? We are really hoping to relax together and let the cousins play in the pool together. Can we use each other’s pools? Thank you!

Sorry, but you won't be able to enjoy each other's pools. Dolphin is not owned by Disney. Even if you are a DVC owner, you cannot pool hop to Dolphin. If they are permitting pool hopping (not sure if they are permitting it currently). Your relatives won't be able to swim at the BW pool if they are not guests of the BW.

There is no reciprocity between BW and Dolphin pools.

Our room at the boardwalk can accommodate up to 9 guests but we are only 5. Can I add the four names of my family members to the reservation so they can use the pool? They would still be staying at the Dolphin.

Yes, you can do that. If you're the DVC owner, you can modify the BWV reservation online to add the additional guests. If you rented DVC points, you'll need to ask the owner to add those guests. If you booked via Disney for cash, I imagine that you'll need to call the reservation line.

The people at BW could most likely use the Dolphin pool with the Dolphin people. They do not ask for ID at the pool and since some are already staying there, they can grab towels for the group (you have to show a room key to get towels).
