I like many others had no intention of going to Disney this summer, however I could not pass up the FT package. I will be traveling with my husband, 3 year-old, 9 month-old and my parents (it is a combined 60th birthday present to them). We all travelled to Disney a year and a half ago and stayed at the Swan (I am a high school teacher). We booked a two bedroom villa at BW for 7 nights at the end of July.

I have a few questions:

How are the villas?

Is there any location I should request?

Are the villas treated as hotel rooms? ie. does housekeeping come in daily?...

Is there anything spectacular I could try to plan for my parents while we are there?

Any advice regarding bringing my 9 month-old?

Thanks in advance for the help!

We've stayed there a few times... you've made a good choice. The villas are very nice. They are spacious but not huge, but big enough. As for locations, we ended up with a quiet pool view, which was nice because of the lack of noise and with a walk down the hall, we could go down stairs, and be right there (the pool, not the boardwalk). But other views are available. Our room was a little out of the way though (sort of a maze-like walk to our room) and since the hallways all look the same, if you didn't know where you were going, you'd be lost. And the walk was a little lengthy, but it was worth it. There is housekeeping that is daily. As for spectacular activities, firework cruises or a good view for Illuminations could be good and memorable, but I'm sure other sggestions will be made. And as for a 9-month-old... I'm not really sure. When we went, we had a 22-month-old, so I couldn't really tell you. Hopefully, some of this information will help!

Since you booked through the FTP, you will have daily housekeeping. If you used DVC points, you would only have a full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towels on day 8. If you are there less than 8 days, you get trash and towels on day 4.

Your parents will enjoy having the second bedroom with full bath to themselves. And you get the king bed with the whirlpool tub in the bathroom.

Your kitchen will be stocked with dishes, pots and pans. You only need to supply the food.

You can try to get a Boardwalk view or pool view. Either will be good.

Only problem? You will be tempted to purchase DVC.

oh you will love the BWV! I stayed there 4 times, and always am very happy!
You made a great choice!
Being that you are paying for the Villa (not on dvc points) you will get daily housekeeping,a dn can even call to request turndown service, if you'd like it!

Request a BW view, or BW green view (courtyard, which you can also see some of the BW from, and Spaceship earth!!
It is awesome, you might want to put in a request for a room closer to the elevators, as those corridors can be quite long, I dont know how your parents would feel about that.

Have fun! :)

You're going to love it! There are standard views and preferred views. The preferred views overlook the Boardwalk or one of the pools.

I have several pictures of a 1-bedroom villa, you can find them HERE.

A 2-bedroom villa consists of a 1-bedroom combined with a studio villa. The studio villa contains a Queen beed and sleeper sofa, table and chairs, bathroom, small kitchen area with microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge. You'll have a lot of room for your family to stretch out!

The best thing about the villa is the clothes washer and dryer. ;)

When booking through CRO, not DVC points, there are not separate view categories for standard or preferred. So you could end up with either. Chances are you will get preferred since most of the standard views are closed for outside renovations, although some may be done by the end of July. You will love BWV! It's a great resort!

LOVE the Boardwalk villas! Every room is great. We've had pool views to parking lot views (we didn't complain because it was Soap Opera Weekend and got a glimpse of multiple stars going through a passage way that was directly under our balcony!) The villas aren't quite as large as those at say, Old Key West but yes, they are spacious! It's great because there is so much to do there. Maybe take your parents to the Flying Fish Cafe. I'd recommend an Illuminations Cruise also (might be loud for the 9-month old and 3-year old, depends on how they deal with fireworks :D ) The children would enjoy the main pool with the animal (an elephant i believe) showering water through it's trunk into the pool, as well as the sights of the carousel pool bar and clown water slide. Lots of eye candy for everyone! Hope you all have a good time, I know you will

Both times I booked through CRO there was either standard or preferred view.

Thanks for all of the great information.

Today is the first day of my summer vacation so I am beginning to get more excited about the trip. My older son (3.5) is too!!

It is amazing, we lasted stayed in Disney when he was one and a half years old and he says he remembers meeting Mickey Mouse. I was a little leary so I asked him who he went with and he responsed myself, my husband and my parents and also said that his brother wasn't there because we didn't have him yet. And he is right. I am not sure if that memory with last a lifetime for him but it sure will for me.

Thanks again.

I love Boardwalk. You will also love the convienience with a group your size of walking or boat to MGM & Epcot.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk Asking for a specific room and getting it is slim but his will give you an idea of “sectional views”.

Good luck
Sandy
