Boardwalk Villa perferred view studio room... what should I request

We want a room that is quiet but is also close to the elevators. What area or rooms should I request? We are staying at BWV studio perferred garden/pool view.

I would want Villiage Green. Close to the elevator and is a 75% Boardwalk view... But may not be quiet enough? So I would imagine Quiet pool, near elevator.
There's only 1 elevator bank, so few units are "near" elevator.

The Village green is the courtyard between the boat dock and the lobby (between the hotel and villas.). If you are familiar with the area, the art glass shop is actually on the village green, not the boardwalk.

I think most village green rooms are studios.

We were just there in Oct. and had a Village Green studio on the first floor. We were right next to a maintenance entrance with noisy linen carts, etc. going in and out all day long(starting in the very early morning). It was NOT quiet. Just so you know when you make your request.

You've already stated it quite clearly. Simply stating that request "quiet but close to elevator" will tell the room assigner all they need to know. Making a request for a general location might wind up with a room that is far away from the elevators or noisy.

That doesn't sound like the village green. First, there are no first floor rooms on the village green, there's the art store and the health club. I don't think there is a maintenance entrance either. Were you on the driveway side where you drop cars off for valet? I've heard that side is noisy. That would be standard view.

if all (which is just a few) the VG view rooms are occupied when you check in, they don't know what you really want (near elevator, quiet), and will likely wind up with the opposite.
request as okwlover said, and ask if a VG room is available at check-in.

Just stayed there over Thanksgiving and we overlooked the green on the second floor. Very noisy! The second floor is encased with the roof of the walkway below which makes everything echo. If you go across the hall, you overlook the pool and it is quieter!

There are no Village Green quiet rooms. You either get the view or you get the quiet.

Even if you don't get the maintenance carts (which do rattle about the boardwalk early in the morning), you get the (expletive deleted) boat bell, the sounds of Boardwalk entertainment, the (expletive deleted) boardwalk games. If you are really lucky, you'll get the drunks.

For relative quiet, the community pool.

ETA: I forgot the sound of Illuminations - you might be able to see some high fireworks, most will be blocked by ESPN - but you'll get to HEAR every last one.

Debbie, we had a preferred view category and the request was for Village Green, but maybe we didn't get that request. The view itself was just fine. The patio looked out on that Alice in Wonderland croquet courtyard(do you know the one I mean?). It was lovely. But directly to our right was a maintenance door. It was our first stay there so I'm not as familiar with that resort as some of the others. We absolutely loved it for the location and easy access to Epcot and F & W. Perfect.

Were you facing the canal and the Swan? Near the end of the hall? I had a room there once, the last room next to Jellyrolls. That's not the village green, I don't know what you would call it, I guess croquet courtyard.

The rooms facing the croquet lawn are some of the quietest at BWVs. There isn't much foot traffic back there and what is is along the canal, distant from most of the rooms.

Boardwalk is not a quiet resort. Its a "bustling" resort. That doesn't mean is really noisy all the time, but if what you want in a resort is peaceful, Boardwalk is the worst choice in DVC. Both the layout and the theme discourage quiet. Really, no other DVC resort has DVC rooms overlooking a theme pool that is set up in a way where screams from the slide are directed straight into the building. No other DVC resort has the same very lenghty interior hallways for excited kids to run down every morning. None have a stiltwalker outside your room, or the patio for a bar below it. With the windows shut, many people can have a room right in the middle of it and not be disturbed by any of it, but the people who really love it like the bustle.

I just had a wonderful Village Green room. It was on the 4th floor, the third room from the elevator. I think it was 4068 but I'm not sure. It was a dedicated studio so I had the parson's bench for my stuff. I could hear the Christmas music playing on the boardwalk. There was a wedding on Thurs. afternoon so I watched the groomsmen on the porch getting ready for the big moment at the Gazebo. I loved the room and hated to leave yesterday.

Having had a boardwalk view room that was right at the corner of the Village Green I'll second (or 3rd or 4th) that the Village Green will not be a quiet room. If that is a concern skip the VG request and go for quiet room near the elevator to describe what you hope for.

BWV is the one resort I've been at that noise has been an issue and I'm willing to do a walk for it when that is my top priority. The rooms down at the quiet pool end are well worth it IMO. Otherwise I've got ear plugs and am ready to use them.

The only thing I didn't like was that our balcony was right up against the large porch of the hotel itself. There was kind of privacy screen, but because we were level with that porch it was never really private. It was very close to the lobby- right around the corner, so it was really convenient. Noise never bothered us at all.

We're heading to BWV for a preferred studio stay and I'd love to get a similar room- decdicated and village green view- but a few floors higher. I'm not sure how to request it without being too specific.

I guess I'll go with a Village Green, 3rd floor or higher, dedicated studio. Too specific??

I don't remember noise ever bothering us (kind of surprising given the location!). Either we were so tired it didn't bother us or the room was pretty well insulated.
