Am I imagining this ? I seem to remember last year or the year before that Disney discounted The Boardwalk Villas for NON-DVC people for a short time. Am I correct ? What was the rate?

When Disney is running discounts BWV will sometimes come up at the same % discount as other deluxes BUT availability tends to be very limited. Renting points during the week will be cheaper than any discount (but no maid service). A discount will wind up being cheaper than renting points for a weekend stay.

Yes, when there are codes or AP rates in effect they may apply to whatever cash inventory WDW resorts has available from DVC. This inventory represents a small portion of total DVC inventory and can be limited.

I have been quoted rates of about $500 a night for a 2 br using a code or AP rate. That would be cheaper than renting points for a weekend.
