Does someone have a map that shows the exact rooms that are classified BW view (as opposed to preferred & standard). Need to show DH what we are guaranteed with that view.

Thanks!

Look at this:

All of the rooms you see are BW view rooms. If you were looking at the hotel from one of the Friendship boats, all of the rooms that face the BW between the General Store and JellyRolls are BW view rooms.

I would also love to see a map that show SV, PV and BV rooms as well as which rooms are studios. I know I have seen these kind of maps of some of the other villas but never one for the boardwalk.

We had a "boardwalk view" that was probably one closer to the entrance of the Boardwalk than DebbieB's. We definitely didn't consider it a "boardwalk view". The CM's at the front desk at the Boardwalk have a different view about these things than the CM's that book our points. Wonderful view DebbieB!!

You are probably referring to _051 rooms. I don't consider them BW view rooms either, since they face the Village Green, but they are assigned as BW view rooms. They are just around the corner from the BW and have an angled view of the BW. Depending on the time of year and the floor, they may not be too bad. But there is a tree outside the room on the 2nd floor which can block much of the view. I remember one of these rooms (I think 2051) had a nice big balcony by the tree and a very small balcony off the living room. We have had these rooms a few times and I always cross my fingers and hope not to get one when we check in. I know that others really like them but we much prefer the regular BW view rooms.

Yes, that was the room. Great balconies, close to the stairs, but not worth the extra points. In fact, we had member services deposit the extra back in our account. If the CM tells us when we book that we will be "on the Boardwalk looking out over the water" and that is why we choose to use more points, then that is what we would like to have. If not, then would rather save the points.

I think the crudely drawn image below is pretty close.

Blue is Preferred Boardwalk View
Red is Preferred Water/Garden
Green is Standard View

[Map deleted...look at corrected one on post #18 in this thread]

The "top" of the blue line are the rooms described as overlooking the Village Green with a partial view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. These are classified as Boardwalk View rooms as far as I know.

I've had the exact same studio twice now, right over Muscles and Bustles, on the top floor, second unit down the hall from the elevators. Wish I could remember the room number. But, it was considered preferred view, not boardwalk view. It was a terrific unit, with a great view of the fireworks and the lake, and a view of the boardwalk without the extra points. I know that there is a point where those villas, overlooking the village green, start to be considered boarkwalk view, but it has to be past the underpass area.

The studios facing the Village Green are usually given as preferred garden view, which would be the same number of points as boardwalk view.

I agree that the Village Green rooms should be preferred view but IMHO only rooms directly over the BW should be BW view rooms, and currently there are a few rooms where that is not the case. I would be willing to bet that DH and I are not the only members who have been surprised to have a guaranteed BW view reservation that turned out to be not right on the BW.

I was kind of disappointed too when I got 5051 as a boardwalk view on my first trip with the guaranteed boardwalk view. But my mom was with me and she was happy it was not far down the hall, so I left it go.

Since then I've had 3 boardwalk view rooms and all were right over the boardwalk.

We had a one bedroom and if we had known we weren't going to have a "boardwalk view", we would have made a ressie for a standard view and saved the points for something else. That is where we were discouraged with the way the CMs at member services and the CMs at the front desk see things differently. We reserved a boardwalk view, not a preferred garden view. We were told by member services CM that it would look right out over the boardwalk..NOT..so looking out at a tree and some grass and the Boardwalk Inn is not the same no matter what the points. It was a nice room, clean and convenient, but not what our reservation guaranteed.:)

So what I"m hearing is that the map should look more like this for the Village Green?

There was another member who posted a similiar disagreement about a room facing the valet parking lot above the pond on the far end. They were given the room as preferred pool/garden because if you leaned over to the left, you could see the canal. Others have got these rooms as standard. They did not win their dispute.

Yes. The Village green preferred garden rooms are all studios, as far as I know. The last room before the corner is a 1 bedroom, which they call a boardwalk view.
