Boardwalk to POP

Hello,
I was reading it is best to leave via the International Gateway after viewing illuminations and walk to the Boardwalk area. How far of a walk is this, and if we are staying at POP Century will there be a bus from around here that can take us back to POP??

I don't understand in what context you read this. There are no busses to resorts from any of the Boardwalk resorts. The only this is if you were planning on taking a taxi back to PC.

Anyway, to answer your first question, it is about a 5 minute walk.

Ed is correct.....since there is no resort to resort tranportation your only option from any of the Epcot resorts (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan & Dolphin) would be to take a taxi.
You could take a bus to DTD from any of the Epcot resorts and then transfer to your resort bus, but that is very time consuming.
The only way your idea would work is if the Disney Studios is having an EMH that night. You can then either walk or boat over to the Studios from the International Gateway and take a bus directly to your resort from there. The walk and the boat ride are both about 25-30 minutes.

If you are trying to avoid the craziness of getting out of Epcot after IllumiNations by exiting via the International Gateway, then I would suggest just slowing down and relaxing. You can't get to Pop from the Boardwalk Resort,or any of the other Epcot resorts. I like to just get a snack and sit and people watch as the park empties. Sure, you'll be there for a bit longer, but you won't have to fight the crowds.
The other thing you can do is to watch IllumiNations from the area of the lake that is closest to the entry to WS from Tomorrowland. Then, you will in the first group to exit...just be sure to walk quickly. If you amble, you will get trampled!!! But,there is no easy way back to Pop from the other side of WS after IllumiNations!!!

Thanks, we'll just take our time. Actually I think the night we're there it is an EMH night anyway so hopefully many will be sticking around and the mass exodus won't be as bad.

Absolutely correct. If you hit it on an EMH night, you should be able to exit quite nicely. Most will be staying on for the EMH.
