Hi there,

We'll be leaving to go to BWV in a few days. I've stayed in a one bedroom there but never in a studio, so please help me!

What exactly is in the little kitchen area?

Also, we got a "Garden/Pool View"...any thoughts on these?

Thanks!!

We just got back on Friday after staying in a studio at BWV. In the kitchenette area we had:

Coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, 4 tumbler size glasses, 2 coffee mugs, paper plates and bowls, plastic forks-spoons-knives, paper towels, sugar packets (not sure about packets of coffee-we don't drink it), sponge and dish detergent and dish rag.

I think that's all, it's quite possible that I've forgotten something.

Just noticed your other question, we had "Pool/Garden View" also, we were in room 2059, it overlooked the courtyard by the Boardwalk, our room was above the walkway next to Wyland Galleries. It was a nice view, we only sat on the balcony the first night as we have two small kids.

Have fun...

Your view could run the gambet of a great pool view to our infamous maintenance building roof top! Hopefully it will be nice!

The kitchen is mostly like a minibar - mini fridge and mini microwave, but more than sufficient unless you plan on eating in the room a lot.

I don't know the difference from being on the 1 bedroom side, but our studios have always been noisy - could hear everything from the 1 bedroom next door. Never enough to ruin our trip, but a few too many wake up calls by a screaming baby next door than we would have liked!

We're getting everyone back though - we'll be taking our own newborn with us next April!

I just booked BWV for the summer and requested "preferred" over standard. Can someone tell me what the difference is?

I know I booked "preferred" too. I think preferred includes pool/garden and BW view. I believe they break down the specifications when you get your final booking because some people are terribly disappointed when they don't get a BW view when they paid for preferred, but that's no problem for me.

if you want a bw view, you need to request 'boardwalk view' specifically when you book, it is a seperate category and guaranteed. otherwise, you get preferred/pool as the poster above stated.

I've found the studio to be fine for 2 of us--I can keep milk and juice, and I really don't cook much while at WDW (heat up some stuff, but that's about it.)

We had "standard view" and ended up with a wonderful view of the Epcot fireworks from our balcony!!! WHat a special treat.

I have stayed in a lot of different villas; in a lot of different locations at BWV, so I will try to add my experiences.
I think Pam (pjshaff) has given a very complete list of the kitchenette contents in a studio, so I will skip that part of the OP.
As for views at BWV, the preferred views are either water or garden views and the standard views are front entrance with a view of a parking lot in the distance. Then of course, there is the very special and coveted boardwalk views (which are still called preferred view villas) which have a beautiful and unobstructed view of the boardwalk. The boardwalk view villas have just recently become available for a guaranteed booking based on view, the only such guaranteed view booking at any DVC resort, btw.
The preferred view villas (other than bw view villas) have either a view of a pool, the waterway & pathway to MGM, boardwalk courtyard, community hall, gardens/grass. The standard view villas all have a parking lot within view at a distance and a view of the front of the resort. This view can include valet parking, tennis courts, etc.
If you have your choices.......I would definitly take a boardwalk view if you can get it. Wonderful, Magical view!!! The view from a boardwalk view villa is the stuff Disney makes promotional resort videos from--I kid you not!!! If you get a preferred view but not bw view, our preference is the courtyard view which is almost the same as boardwalk view except you are on the sides above Wyland galleries. For all other preferred views, our preferences are: quiet pool/community hall views; Swan/Dolphin/waterway to MGM and then lastly main pool. For standard view villas we always request as far from the elevators and as close to the tennis courts as we can get--these are a bit of a walk but lovely views from these villas are to be had!!
BWV is very lucky in that the vast % of their villas regardless of whether they are standard or preferred have nice views including many villas with views of Illuminations & Fantasmic fireworks, WS, TOT, Friendship boats etc.. Although BWV does have a very small number of villas that have a totally true bad view, these villas are very few and far between.
Enjoy your trip.

Thank you to all for your help....I can't wait!

We tell the kids on Christmas morning that we are leaving that night ....
