Hi all,

We are going to Boardwalk Villas in March for a 1 bedroom standard. Can anyone give me feedback on this resort? Is there a partcular room I should request? We are travelling with 2 children and 2 seniors. My FIL is slightly disabled so I don't want to have to walk to far to main areas.
Please tell me anything you can on Boardwalk. We just stayed at OKW and loved it. Thought we would try another resort. What are the 1 bedrooms like? What is included?
Thanks.

Wow, 4 adults and 2 kids in the one bedroom. I hope you are giving the seniors the bedroom, otherwise they will be sleeping on the sofa bed.

The one bedrooms are great, love having the washer/dryer in the room. Large bathrooms, great kitchen.

It's best to keep your requests general and to list them in the order of importance. Most list their smoking preference first.

If it is important to be near the elevators (which are near to the lobby), request that. Otherwise your room may end up to be quite a walk from the elevators.

You may want to consider renting an ECV or wheelchair for your FIL - it's going to be quite a hike to the boats (for EPCOT & MGM) and it could also be a hike to the bus stop (for the AK & MK & DD/PI & waterparks) depending on where your room assignment ends up. If your FIL can do stairs, the walk to the bus stop willo be much shorter. The parking lot is also quite a distance from the lobby, but you can pay to valet if that will be a problem.

Best wishes -

You'll find the 1 bedroom units at the BWV smaller than those at OKW. They are very similar - the major difference (besides the smaller living room/lkitchen area at the BWV) is that OKW has a separate room for the washer & dryer. Those for BWV are the stackable kind and they are in a closet just off the entryway.

The kitchens are equipped the same as OKW. OKW has the sleep sofa and a loveseat in the living room. The BWV has the sleep sofa and a chair - no love seat.

HTH.

I agree that is a lot of people to put in a one bedroom. We stayed at BWV in room 5095. Here are some pics. I will say our room had a beautiful view (quiet pool, MGM, AK and the Swan and Dolphin, but was at the far end of the hotel.

Just as an FYI, they will now allow 5 in a one-bedroom. We are doing it in June.

I would definitely request close to elevator if walking will be difficult with 2 seniors and 2 children.

As for 6 to a one bedroom, the only way I could see it being done semi comfortably without bring any air mattresses (and without getting into the legality of it) would be to have the kids in the king bed with you while your parents in law are on the sofa bed.

We used to have our DD2 and DD4 in the king bed with us (ask for bed rails) even with only the 4 of us in the one bedroom because they wouldn't sleep apart from us in another room in a strange place. It was also easier not to have to open up the sofabed It wasn't the most comfortable for DH and me but it was an improvement over the kids climbing in bed with us in our queen at home! Lol!

But now that our kids are 4 and 6, we would never be able to sleep with both of them in the same bed. They both sleep on the sofa bed now. So, your comfort would depend on the ages of your children.

But the real problem I see is that you might have to give up the king bed to your in laws. Unless the sofa beds at BWV have all been changed to the new types which I highly doubt, (most of OKW have been changed) then the sofabed will be way too uncomfortable for 2 seniors especially if one of them is slightly disabled.

If you give up the bedroom to the inlaws, then you will HAVE to bring some type of bedding for the kids. The one bedrooms at BWV are going to be smaller than the OKW one bedroom. I doubt know if there will be room for any air mattresses after the sofabed is opened unless you stick one IN the kitchen nook and maybe by the front door? :earseek: I would definitely try to get the smaller toddler sized one depending on the age of your kids.

Would your kids be willing to share the bedroom with their grandparents? Otherwise it will be a VERY tight squeeze for your family of 4 in the living room.
