What is the difference between the preferred view rooms and the standard view rooms at the Boardwalk? We have a 2 bedroom preferred view room booked for an upcoming trip and it was approx 50 points more than standard view. Just curious as to what the difference is.

It is the view. The standard view rooms face the front driveway of the resort and a few face the parking lot with a canal in between the building and lot.

The preferred is a view of one of the 2 pools or other garden or water area.

Usually standard views are snapped up by owners because of the low point requirements. We always try to book standard at 11 months but I have been lucky to find SV in a 1BR well into the 7 month booking window for slow times of the year.

Love those standard view point costs. Next three trips are all at BWV in standard view rooms.

Preferred pool/garden view will give you view of main pool, quiet pool, or channel leading to Studios (except there are some studios over the Village Green that have a partial boardwalk view). Standard is view of the front area of the building or the tennis courts and Studios in the distance and very often what you see mostly are large trees that are between the road and the rooms. Other than view, the preferred view rooms are the same, such as size and furnishings, as those in standard. Standard view really is OK, preferred pool/garden a little better. Preferred boardwalk view (a booking category), which is very often difficult to get unless you are an owner using the 11 month reservation window, is one of the most fantastic views at WDW.
