I'm doing an Escape package. This limits you to 2 resorts for the room block. Because of my guests I chose a value and a moderate. But for those who want to splurge on a deluxe hotel close to SBP (me), which should I suggest?

Boardwalk Inn
Beach Club
Yacht Club

If you have stayed at any of the above hotels, what made you love that over the other? Your positive or negative experience? Thanks! :thumbsup2

The Yacht & Beach Club have Stomalong Bay as their pool area - it is the only sand bottom pool on property and has a shipwreck slide into the pool it is a very popular pool area if they would have time to utilize it. They also have 2 sitdown restaurants, 1 signature restaurant, a grab & go, a pool bar/food area. You can also walk or boat over to boardwalk to enjoy the night clubs or food areas there.

Have a great wedding!!!

We just stayed at BW for a week. We had never stayed there before and we LOVED it. The service was excellent, our mousekeeper went above and beyond and although we had problems with our toilet 2 nights in a row, they came right away to fix it and then someone followed up like an hour later! We were impressed by this.
The view from our (standard) room was excellent (you could see IllumiNations!).
Close walk to EPCOT or Y&BC....

We would definitley stay here again!

HTH!:goodvibes

We loved the Beach Club for its proximity to Epcot (it's the closest), Stormalong Bay pool, and manageable size.

You could also post your question on the DIS' Resorts board and see what kind of response you get - the people there have lots of opinions! :rotfl:

We've stayed at all 3 and enjoy each of the resorts for different reasons.

Yacht Club - hands down of the 3 this would be our favorite. We had a beautiful room overlooking the wedding gazebo (we got married there and I asked upon check in) that was huge and quite comfy. We love the laid back feel of the YC and the restaurants. The pool is awesome, Beaches and Creme is right there and we just love the light colors in the rooms.

Beach Club - this would be our 2nd choice paying cash but our 1st choice of the 3 if we were staying on DVC points. Same reasons as Yacht club - in fact closer to Epcot.

Boardwalk - like it, but we don't LOVE it. We always seem to get a room that is so far from the lobby (on both cash and dvc side). We do love that DHS is close on the villa side to walk. We enjoy the restaurants here but don't feel that the resort is set up as well if you want to do refillable mugs and enjoy some snacks as YC/BC.

My choices in order would be:
Beach Club
Boardwalk
Yacht Club
We stayed at The Boardwalk for our wedding (it was in Epcot - Italy). We had an IllumiNations Dessert Party in the UK and walked on the Boardwalk to our Dessert Party and then back to our resort after. If you ceremony is on The Boardwalk that would be perfect for you.

We just returned this past weekend from a stay at The Beach Club. We completely loved it. It is so close to Epcot it makes walking in and out so fast. The pool there is wonderful and we just loved the sand on the bottom and the lazy river in the pool. They have a small food court so you can purchase the mug and get refills for your stay.

As the Beach Club is connected to The Yacht Club we spent time there also. While the Yach Club was beauitiful it seems a little more reserved then The Beach Club. It shares the pool with The Beach Club so that is not a problem. I did go in to check out food and did not see any food court type place to get something quick to eat. The have a great sit down place but if you want to grab something I did not see that. I did ask in the gift show about refilling my soda mug and the person there said there was not a quick place to refill the mug. I could be wrong but definately check this out.

I love The Yacht Club. It is like a third home to me (we have a cottage so it can't be my 2nd :rotfl:). Like someone said about, it has Stormalong Bay which I love. The slide there is awesome, however I've wanted to try the slide at The Boardwalk for a while now. The Yacht Club also has The Yachtman Restaurant which I love. Since I was like 8 we have become friends with one of the waiters there. Last time we went, he got to meet my fiance, and he and his wife are invited to our wedding. :) Besides Stormalong Bay, there is a private pool I think more towards The Boardwalk. I think there are tennis courts before it if you're walking to it this way as well. There are also nice changing areas by Stormalong Bay, and Beaches&Cream which is easy to get to whether at The Yacht Club or Beach Club. Someone mentioned being able to see Illuminations from The Boardwalk, but one or two years we were at The Yacht Club, I believe in a room to the left of the Gazebo but the front side of the hotel, we could see not only Illuminations, but also the MGM (at the time, now Hollywood Studios) fireworks! My mind may have made this up, but I feel like we could've seen the MK ones too. It might just be that I was so amazed we could see 2 sets tho'. :worship: Another nice thing about both the Yacht and Beach Clubs is that if you get a balcony room, you can slide open your doors at night and hear the Friendship horns. This is probably one of my favorite sounds to fall asleep to. My parents actually stayed at The Beach Club this past Feb. and I could hear the horns from their room over our cell phones and got so jealous! :) They liked The Beach Club that time because it was even closer to the International Gateway (their favorite part of E.P.C.O.T.), and also they either couldn't get a room at The Yacht Club, or The Yacht Club was more expensive.

As for The Boardwalk, besides the things I've mentioned, I think it's beautiful. I've never stayed there, but just walking through it it seems on par with The Yacht Club (just more white, lol). One thing I think I would like about staying there is that I could just grab something from the bakery on The Boardwalk before heading to the International Gateway. Also, the bicycles are right there to rent. I don't know if music from Jellyrolls would keep someone up if they were early to bed people tho'.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2
