Does anyone know how far along the refurbishment is at Boardwalk? We have 2 two-bedrooms for Dec 16-23 and I was wondering what our chances are of getting an updated room?

Don't know stage of completion but many are already reporting on other threads staying in the refurbed rooms.

I asked at check-in today and was told that there are still rooms being rehabbed but the CM was not clear about exactly where they are still working. As far as I can tell all of the BWV rooms are finished.

Thank you so much! That might help if we aren't room ready and have the chance for suggestions....although I know nothing is guaranteed.

We just got back today. We were on the 3rd floor. The rooms on our hall were not refurbished. We had a standard view studio.

I thought I read somewhere that with the refurbishment of one of the DVCs (I can't remember which one), they put in a sleeper chair in the one bedrooms making it officially for 5. Anyone heard of this and are they doing this with BWV? I really wish they would as we are a family of 5 and think that the 1br is enough space for us.

We were there in May in a non refurbished room and it was wonderful except for a few stains on the sofa. I like the old color scheme better, so I would gladly take a non refurbished room if it is in great shape like the one we had.
I remember reading here the refurb would stop in December to meet high occupancy demand and resume in January.
Hope you love your room whatever you get!

They are not adding the sleeper chair to the BWV during this rehab.

IMO, there isn't enough room to have both a sleep sofa open and a sleeper chair open.

I'm in a boardwalk view room on the 4th floor and it has been rehabbed. It's beautiful!

There is no sleeper chair, there would not be enough room to have it plus the sofa open.

I brought my router with me from home and it connected right up with no problem! Love wireless!

Our rooms last week were in really rough shape. I was diappointed, faded bedding, stained rugs, etc. We got my parents a room and my mom politely called her room "tired". We still had a great trip but the rooms themselves were definately the low point.:sad2:

Have you posted any pictures?

We just returned last night and I can say with certainty they are working on the first floor quiet pool area. I only saw a handful of rooms done in that section. As we watched for 2 days, rooms were dismantled and the components were taken out the service door in the corner near our room (that issue is a whole story in itself) LOL ...but I provide information on that particular area. Hope that helps.

We just returned from our stay in a BW Grand Villa (one floor model, room 5047). It was definitely refurbished and wonderful!

We were in studios facing the village green last week, and both were refurbished. When I asked if our rooms were refurbished at check-in, we were told that all rooms were done, but that was clearly not the case on the first floor. Also, one day while we were out they came in our room and replaced the ceiling fan. MIL stayed in that day and happened to notice them going in and out of our room and asked what they were doing.

A large portion of the 3rd floor is still in need of refurb.

I stayed in one of those rooms this week. Nothing upgraded yet, and the same old nasty, ratty, worn out carpet in the hall too.

I'm in a standard view 1br on the 1st floor now, and it hasn't been refurbished yet.

I can tell from the noise though that they are in the process of working on the room above me on the 2nd floor. Fortunately, the noise is only during the daytime, and it's not too bad.

Just returned from 2BR...4004 and 4006 to be exact. Was refurbed and very nice. Preferred view as well which was of the canal, Swan & Dolphin and could see Tower of Terror and Sorceror's hat as well. Long walk from elevators, but very quiet and stairs to canal at end of the hall. Forgot to take pics of the room, but very vibrant colors in the carpeting in the halls, comfortable pull out couch and beds. Flat screen TVs in living room, bedroom as well as attached studio. No probs with fridge, washer/dryer, whirlpool.... All in all very happy with refurb. I did notice on first floor that carpet in some halls not redone, so unsure if rooms are done or not.
