My family and I will be at DW the first week of October and we have never been to the Boardwalk area. I learned here that you can walk to it from EPCOT' s back entrance. I was thinking about doing that after EPCOT one night. We are eating a late dinner at Le Cellier on a Monday night, could we walk over to the Boardwalk area afterwards? Is it worth going to? How late does it stay open? Are there buses from the Boardwalk back to other hotels that run late? We will be staying at POR, what would be the best way back to our hotel when we're done? Thanks for your help! :)

Jennifer, hi and welcome to the DIS!

Yes, it's an easy walk from Le Cellier to the Boardwalk; probably less than half a mile. The clubs (Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance) are open late and you can walk around as long as you want if you just want to soak in the atmosphere.

If you are staying at POR the fastest way to get back would be to go into the BW (or any of the other hotels around the lagoon--YC, BC, Swan, Dolphin) and get a taxi. Otherwise you'd have to take a bus to DTD and switch to another bus to POR. WDW bus service does not run directly from resort-to-resort.

Enjoy!

We drive ourselves and park in the Boardwalk parking lot. It's a short walk. That is the only place we drive once we hit the mouse house. :earsboy: Quick & easy to get into Epcot & to get out!

Just turn left when you leave Epcot and you're right there on the Boardwalk. You might want to check the schedule because sometimes the carnival activities are only on Weds. through Sunday nights or even just weekends.

If MGM is open late that night, I would take the boat from Boardwalk or Swan to MGM (or walk) and then take the bus from MGM to POR. There are varying reports on whether you can pay to park at the Boardwalk. I do believe you can pay for valet parking.

Those who are going to EPCOT shouldn't be parking in the Boardwalk lots.

Those lots are for guests staying at the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villas or for those visiting the Boardwalk. It is often almost impossible for a resort guest to find a parking spot in the late afternoon or evening becasue so many people do that. The lots empty after IllumiNaitons.

Recently, the security booth attendants hae been directing guests without a BWI/BWV resort parking pass across the street. That lot is quite a hike from the IG.

Please park in the EPCOT lot if you are going to EPCOT and leave the Boardwalk parking spots for those who are paying to stay at the BWI or the BWV or for who are spending time on the Boardwalk.

Best wishes-
