Boardwalk question?

Hi - I've never been over to the Boardwalk but always "dream" of staying there some day We were wondering if it's worth a trip over there to walk around. Are there shops over there - any good places to eat? Thanks!!

The Boardwalk is a very fun place. There are four resturants. Each one has a different style/cuisine. There are also kiosks along the Boardwalk. Surrey bikes are available for rental most of the day. At night, there is usually some kind of entertainment. There is usually a person walking around the Boardwalk performing. There are two night clubs, Jellyrolls and Dueling Pianos. I like to spend the night there.

Oh yes! Have a cocktail at the Bellevue Lounge, browse int ehe Wyland gallery, ceck out the action on the boardwalk, dinner at the Flying Fish.

Remember the BW/Swan/Dolphin/YC/BC are all within minutes walk of each other. There are a ton of restaurants and shops.

You love the Boardwalk. I am a DVC memeber and Boardwalk is my home resort so we have stayed there four years in a row.
My two girls are 5 and 6 and they both love playing the carnival games at night.

While not as bustling as DTD, the Boardwalk is a nice entertainment area with a more relaxed atmosphere. Love hanging out at the ESPN Club and watching a game or two. Jellyrolls, with its dueling pianos, is a hoot as well. It's so nice just to sit on a bench and enjoy the atmosphere......Love it.

It's definitely worth it. Depending on where you are staying, go to MGM and then there is a walkway to the Boardwalk. And try to go in the evening - there's more entertainment along the Boardwalk itself than during the day. And take a walk around to the YC/BC and the Swan/Dolphin to check things out around there as well.

I would love to check out the Boardwalk, too! We're staying at CSR and understand there used to be a direct bus between the resorts. If not, can we drive and park in the Boardwalk hotel lot? I was even thinking this would be an easier 'getaway' after Illuminations, if it's possible.

We love the BWI and the Boardwalk area. Before we stayed there we stayed always at the CBR. We would leave Epcot after Illuminations and walk over to the Boardwalk area through International Gateway. A stop at Beaches and Cream for ice cream and then a walk around the boards. It is well worth the time and effort to get over there. There is an ice cream shop on the Boardwalk, a bakery and quite a few good restaurants. There is some great fun family entertainment along the boards at night that you would enjoy.

I see no reason why you couldn't drive your car to BW - stop at the gate, you should have a car pass from CSR, tell the guard you are going to visit the Boardwalk/have dinner or whatever... Park your car (or valet) go down and enjoy the Boardwalk - walk on over to Epcot watch Illuminations then afterwards stroll around the Boardwalk before you head back to CSR. By the way, I agree with Ducklite- have a beverage in the Bellevue Lounge - just off the lobby inside the resort. You might even decide to walk on over to BC/YC and see what all they have to offer - maybe an ice cream at Beaches & Cream - maybe a mouth watering filet at the Yachtsman Steakhouse - maybe a beverage at The Crew's Cup Lounge. You won't be sorry, your bank account may be sorry - because after you visit, you'll just have to stay at one of these great resorts on your next trip. Have fun!

We loved BWI too and the desserts from the bakery were all fabulous!! Definately go in the evening for the full effect, lights, entertainers etc... you can even buy a beer in the general store and stroll or sit at a table on the BW with it! Not the shopping like DTD, just a few stores.

I believe that non-Boardwalk guests have to park across the street--it's a bit of a hike, it might be worth paying to valet park.
