We have a 1 bedroom standard view booked using our points in August. My mother is not a DVC member and will be coming with us. She will be booking a studio through the regular Disney number paying cash. Is there any particular view she should book to increase her chance of being near us? Should she get a standard view also? I know requests can't be guaranteed but anything we could do to increase our chances of being near each other would help. Last time we stayed at Boardwalk our rooms were nowhere near each other.

Standard view through CRO is usually pool/garden view, that's the only view they book. If she requests quiet pool view, she could near your standard view but it's a large area and 5 floors. Your best bet is to put "traveling with" notations on both reservations.

I agree. Best bet is to be sure your reservation requests to be near her; and her reservation requests to be near you. They usually try to accomodate.

Can you get a better deal renting a studio through MS? What about a point transfer into your account from another member?

Thanks for the suggestions. We travel together every August for the past few years and always request to be near each other. Bay Lake actually gave us connecting rooms, but every other year we have been nowhere near each other.
