Does anyone know why the points per night for Boardwalk Villas are decreasing from 2019 to 2020, yet Beach Club is increasing - both being super close to EPCOT? Just curious. We love booking at both. They used to be comparable.

Thoughts? (or actual facts?)

What BWV 2020 points chart are you looking at? Studios and 1BRs are increasing in 2020. 2BR BW View are going down most seasons. GVs are statistically unchanged.

2020 point charts have just been revised. Be sure you are looking at the revised chart. You may have to view it on the Members' website. Not sure if other sites & calculators have been updated to reflect this very recent revision.

Revised chart appears to be the same as 2019 chart except for Easter weeks and Thanksgiving dates.

I just compared 2019 and the newly revised 2020 and they are identical--no differences.

Yes. DVC retreated on their stance that the 2020 charts were within reason and they reverted them back to 2019 levels (with adjustments for holiday dates). That was done late on Friday. Up until that day, DVC representatives were insistent that the new point requirements were done to meet members' needs.

WOW! Glad everyone complained!!

. . .and it turns out member "needs" (read: reactions) weren't what they thought. . .;)

Also, keep in mind that the question isn't entirely correct. They can never change the overall points for a resort over the course of the year. They can only change the allocation within the resort. Thus, they can decrease a room type in Boardwalk during a particular season. But they have to make it up elsewhere in Boardwalk (another time or another room).

They can not "decrease points per room in boardwalk" and "increase points per room in beach club" overall. That would breach the contract.

Glad it changed! I was wondering why all my planning numbers changed recently. Back to the drawing board!

They also cannot increase say the total number of points required over a year for a standard view studio at Boardwalk and decrease the total number of points for a Standard View Two Bedroom at Boardwalk.

Bottom line is say it is 2,500 points to stay an entire year at Boardwalk in a standard view studio, then it must always remain 2,500 points to stay in a standard view studio at Boardwalk, this total can never change and that is why they tried to do.

I had seen another thread that claimed the points went up. When I looked at the charts I didn't see any difference for the weeks we use. I must have missed the first version and only saw the revised.
