In the planning stages for my second annual girls trip. Stayed at the Polynesian last year (my absolute favorite resort) but my friend wants to try something different and was interested in either the Boardwalk or Y & BC for location. What are the real positives about each and what are peoples' preferences? Just interested in opinions, good and bad. Thanks!

I love the lobby and atmosphere at the YC plus great places to eat. The BWI is also very nice but you can walk over there from the YC. I like the pool better at the YC and BC than the BWI. Clowns freak me out.

YBC - Better Pool
YBC - Shorter Walk to Epcot
YBC - Better Restaurants ( Cape May , YS )
YBC - Nicer Atmosphere
YBC - Quieter

Come to think of it - there is not one reason why I would choose BW over YBC.

Out of all the resorts we have stayed at, CB, POR, CSR, WL, BW, AllSS and BC, BC is DH and my favorite. IMHO the pool at BC/YC is the best of any of the resorts. Love ice cream at Beaches and Cream every night. The proximity to Epcot is a huge plus for us, expecially during free dining. We have never stayed at the YC and the only reason is the theme. The laid back feel of the Beach theme suits us perfectly. I do know one of the pluses of the YC over the BC is all the rooms come with a full balcony, BC does not. That being said, I have always listed a full balcony as a top priority on our reservation and have always got one.

We have stayed at BWI and BC and love both, however be aware that all of the BC rooms do not have a full balcony, some are standing room only. That is important to us as we like to spend time on our balcony, but this may not matter to you.

We have stayed at BWI (4/08) and YC (5/02) and the YC beats the BWI at every level. The BWI is a very nice hotel but compaired the the YC or even the Poly(4/07) there is no comparison. The BW seems to cater to the BWV guests more that the Inn.

They are also due for a major refurb.

My wife and I are big fans of the BW. The lobby is lovely -- very pretty, airy. Much more artfully and creatively designed than the BC. (And not as dark as the YC).

The atmosphere (and vintage music) is fun; you really DO feel like you are at the Jersey shore. And the place comes alive at night. :dance3:

It's our favorite resort at WDW.

We have chosen BW partly because we want to spend a good amount of time at the BW itself. The theming between the two is so similar (in the rooms), that wasn't a deciding factor. We don't tend to spend much time at the pool, so that wasn't a factor either. And we wanted 24 hour food access wherever we stayed. BW has 24 hour room service. BC/YC has no 24 hour option.

One more good point is that the YC has the first stop for the bus. That's important during the busy times of the year. :)

BC - the pool is amazing!!!! Also, very quick walk to Epcot! You'll love it! Such a laid back atmosphere.

We love the YC because it is so nice and quiet and the quiet pool is off the beaten path and hardly ever used. We are going to try the BW in Oct, their quiet pool looks so nice! (can you tell that is what we go for?)

They are all great resorts, but my favorite is the YC. Given all the references in this thread to the "Y&BC", don't forget that the YC and BC are separate resorts. I'd hate to see you choose the YC and then inadevertently book the BC because you thought they were the same resort.

BC is our fave WDW resort. Reasons:

-Stormalong Bay is the best pool at WDW.

-BC is the closest resort to Epcot, a very easy walk.

Stayed at BC in April for the first time and thought it was great.
Great pool, nice CM, nice gym and they had movie's on the beach every night at 7pm. Walk to Epcot was about five minutes.
I did walk over to BW some nights and I really enjoyed the street performers and the restaurants over there. We are trying to stay at BW in October.
I also walked back from Disney Studios to BW one night and the walk was not that bad about 10 minutes.

I think both are great.

close you eyes and pick one :) any one will be a great choice, all three are beautiful resorts!

Thanks to everyone for sharing your opinions. I'm still undecided. I have been to WDW many, many times and am very familiar with the Epcot resorts from strolling the area, visiting the restaurants, pubs & shops, and using the walking path to get to MGM ( can't help still thinking of it as this!). My husb and I have also walked inside the BC, YC and BW. Just can't decide which theming appeals to me most. Alicnwondrin, you made me chuckle! There's something about that clown that also freaks me out. But I do enjoy the atmosphere over there, since I grew up on the Jersey shore.
