Boardwalk or Swan?

My husband really wants to stay at the Boardwalk, but with the teacher discount at the Swan, I am having a hard time justifying the cost. What would you do? We have stayed at the Beach Club, and LOVE this area, because of the ease of walking into Epcot and Disney Studios. Would we be just as happy at the Swan, are the rooms nice? It would be myself, DH, and our teenage DD and DS.

The Swan and Dolphin are lovely hotels; in fact, the Swan is only a couple of minutes' walk from the Boardwalk. You won't necessarily get that "Disney" feel at the hotel, but you'll get plenty of that during the days at the parks.

The only other minuses of not being at a Disney-owned property are 1) you can't use DME to/from MCO if you're flying, and 2) you can't charge expenses on your room key (other than at the hotel). I can't recall anything else; maybe other Disers can. :confused3

If those aren't enough to offset your room savings, then go with the Swan. BTW, you'll still be able to use WDW transportation on site and you can take advantage of EMHs, too. :thumbsup2

Im struggling with the same decision...leaning towards Swan/Dolphin. They are so close to the boardwalk and so much cheaper.
