boardwalk or beach club

Wow, Beca...thanks for those great points. :flower:

My favorite resorts in order are GF, AKL, BWI, BC, WL, YC, Swan/Dolphin, POFQ, POR (these are where we've stayed...)

I think the Boardwalk rooms and decor are prettier, and like being directly on the Boardwalk rather than the beach, but we love the BC, too ;)

There are so many great choices--that's why we split stays so much! :cloud9:

Well, here's another vote for Beach Club....it is just an amazingly beautiful resort!! There's the marketplace that has really great food (take out) and gelato. There is Beaches 'n Cream which is the BEST burgers on WDW property (they also have food to go) and AMAZING ice cream. There is Hurricane Hanna's which is a food place inside Stormalong Bay. They have a really great kids meal which comes in a bucket with a shovel...it is SO cute. After the kids eat, they can play in the sand of the pool. Cape May is a buffet place that is really nice. In the morning it is a character breakfast with Minnie, Goofy and friends in their beach attire. I think it is great to have a character b'fast in your hotel when you have small kids.

One of the things that sets BC apart from BW for me, is that BC is built around the pool. It faces the Crescent lake....so, when you are swimming you see the Boardwalk and all the boats/activity of the lake. At BW, the pool is on the parking lot side of the hotel...kind of out of the way for me. Also, BW does not have ANY amenities inside the hotel....everything is out on the Boardwalk. This is not a big deal for most people, but in inclement weather, it is nice not to have to go outside to get food.

Also, the Boardwalk does not have access to the beach of Crescent Lake. One of my family's favorite activities is to sit in a swing chair on the lake and watch the sun go down, or even watch illuminations from the beach...it is so special. My mom and stepdad usually take a glass of wine on the beach and enjoy the boats going by. For us, there is a big difference between being "on" the beach, and being elevated from it.

I would rather stay at Beach Club than ANY resort on property....it is a VERY special place.

Beca,

thanks so much for all the info. I think we are going to love the BC. I really love the poly, but we need to try something new.
